Kiyoshi Shelton is a world premier visionary HipHop vocalist/songwriter who has a strong passion for inspiring others through powerful messages of positivity, love, health, social justice, and sustainability. He is committed to actively engaging and empowering audiences through highly interactive and exhilarating experiences.
Kiyoshi’s mission is to help actualize social change through the collective power of music, dance, and community while bringing balance, inspiration, and respect to the hip-hop and global arenas.
Born in Saginaw, MI and trained by his music teaching father, Kiyoshi relocated to Ann Arbor where he built his reputation as one of Metro Detroit's most creative and talented artists. With over 15 years of experience, Kiyoshi maintains a very professional level of performance with connecting to his listeners and getting a crowd dancing during his super high-energy live shows.
He has toured internationally at various events, festivals, and venues, performing for a diverse array of audiences at events such as Envision Festival (Uvita, Costa Rica), Lightning in a Bottle (Bradley, CA), (NXNE Festival (Toronto, CA), Midpoint Music Festival (Cincinnati, OH), A3C Festival (Atlanta, GA), Ann Arbor Summer Festival (Ann Arbor, MI), Bhakti Fest (Joshua Tree, CA), Lucidity Festival (Santa Ynez, CA), LoveStock Fest (Hollywood, CA), and many more! His work has been featured on MTV, VH1, OkayPlayer, URB, FUSE TV, countless blogs, playlists, channels etc. He has shared the same stage as B.O.B., Big Sean, Aloe Blacc, Slum Village, Mayer Hawthorne, Black Milk, MC Yogi, Desert Dwellers, Luminaries & others.
Kiyoshi continues to innovate as a premier conscious MC in Southern California, performing at festivals and events all over the world, and collaborating with vocalists, dancers, producers, puppeteers, and other performers.
