Bio
Kendra D. Banks is a multi-threat professional artist who is a singer, songwriter, actor and classically trained dancer. Kendra's music demonstrates an appreciation of old school soul and R & B sounds. Each song she presents offers a different flavor and feel that can appeal to people across cultural borders and ages. Her songs range from topics of family reunions to relationships, both good and heartbreaking. Catchy hooks, and easy to remember lyrics will have listeners singing quickly to her music.
Kendra’s demo CD offers four original selections for review. When performing live, she offers an even greater array of soul-stirring tunes. Her bluesy “Black Molasses” is about a love that “fills her up with desire” that she asks to be poured down on “ me till I want no more you see.” In her love ballad “ Love is the Game” she sings about a relationship gone bad as she croons out “ I would’ve never dreamed, I was your second pick.” Kendra’s “Soul Food” is a throwback to the funk sounds of the seventies.
Kendra, a graduate of Morgan State University with a television degree, is a veteran performer and has been performing since the age of three. ChoKolat Sol has been performing as a group with Kendra since 2004. The band has over a combined 40 years of instrumentalist experience. For booking arrangements please call 410-566-8158.
