NAPPY (Kevin Napoleon)

When I was a young Journalism Major in Hawaii, writing came easy and I had plenty of inspirations in my life to write about. Now all I needed was a guitar. I’m left-handed,o I borrowed my brother Sam”s guitar and taught myself how to play upside down, creating The Nappy Sound. haha!! Bob Marley, James Taylor, Michael Jackson, UB 40 along with Hawaii Groups Kalapana, C&K, Jack Johson and Country Comfort, inspired me to rise up and create the music you hear today and through all my career.I have had a fulfilled solo career and also the co-frontman with Hawaiian group Kua”ana for the last 25 years.
 Currently focusing my time composing songs and performing with trio group "Mele Tree" and my solo career with 2020 tour that will feature a string quartette and all new music with a couple of classic remixes.I love playing live and have performed thousands of shows from small to giant concerts and events. I have had the honor to share the stage with many top artists and musicians from Hawaii which Includes Fiji, The Green, Three Plus, Kapena, Natural Vibrations, recently with Common Kings, Big Mountain, Pato Banton Julian Marley to name a few. I also did a successful campaign project with Hawaiian Island Creations In 2007.I will be booking shows throughout the 2020-21 years worldwide and looking forward to networking with you for a positive live entertainment outcome. I can and will play some remix covers at my shows as well. Also, shows may include a string quartet and a 3-6 piece band.
