Bio
Kevin Joyal, known by his stage name Kebi, is an innovative DJ and producer based in Tulum / Aspen / CT, who has been making waves in the music scene with his diverse sound and infectious beats. Kebi's musical journey began at a young age, growing up in the suburbs of New York where he immersed himself in all genres of music, playing various instruments before discovering the world of electronic music.
After attending Dubspot Music Academy and collaborating on projects at Universal and Warner Brothers Studios in New York City, Kebi went on to become a widely respected DJ in Aspen, Colorado, where he honed his skills and was voted as one of the Top 3 DJs in Aspen by The Aspen Times in 2020, being the youngest DJ on that list by upwards of twenty years. During his time in Aspen, Kebi held weekly residencies at all the top venues in town, including performances at the renowned Belly Up Theater, and curated events that drew crowds from all over.
Following his success in Aspen, Kebi moved to Tulum, Mexico, where he lived and performed for two years, playing at Vagalume Beach Club, Tekio, Downtown Tulum Radio, and other top venues in the area. In addition to his performances, Kebi also owns a record label called Sunday Cafe Records, which he uses as a platform to cultivate love in the form of musical frequency, signing artists from all around the world and bringing their unique sounds to a global audience.
Kebi's dedication to his craft and love of music has led to many opportunities to share stages with renowned artists such as Satori, Ben Bohmer, Griz, Fatoumata Diawara, Desert Dwellers, Paax Tulum, and many more. His globally inspired sets span cultures, generations, and genres, blending timeless grooves with the more advanced age of today, and are a direct reflection of his intention to create a harmonious balance of culture, rhythm, and soul.
In all that he does both behind the decks and in his day-to-day life, Kebi introduces a tone of acceptance and love, aiming to use music as a medium of connection - to himself, to others, and to the universal frequencies within all of us. Through his travels and experiences, Kebi continues to expand his musical horizons, blending afro-latin rhythms, funky house grooves, and all the hits to create a sound that is uniquely happy and positively his own.
Outside of music, Kebi enjoys a quiet, laid-back lifestyle, focusing on growth and expansion in all aspects of his life. He can often be found sipping coffee, playing basketball, hanging with friends and family, and adventuring through nature.
Kebi's one-of-a-kind DJ sets have earned him international tours and chart-topping success on respected labels such as Sunday Cafe, Tropical Disco, and New Something Records. Through his music and message, Kebi continues to establish his inspiring presence on an international level.
