Q&A with KC Jones.Be on the lookout 2013.
Who’s KC Jones? Im the type of artist that holds nothing back and works everyday toward his dream of being a successful recording artist and Business man. As an artist im able to make something out of nothing and that’s what i bring to the table. I never stop and I never quit I’ve been going 5 years and I’m not slowing down.
How did you get started in the music scene? I linked up with my childhood friend CAIN back in 07 and we created the Duo The Odd Couple, since then we have been rocking together performing in Chicago and out of town like California and New York. For the last year i put my main focus on my solo sound and career.
What are your music influences? Two major influences of mine are my cousin Chaka Khan and my uncle K.T Tyler who plays bass in a band and of course the world knows who Chaka Khan is she has been great in giving me advice…artist like Jay Z, Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West, Eminem, Smoke Dza, Run Dmc, The Clipse, Wiz Khalifa, Cain, The Temptations and many more
What’s your method at the time of writing a new song? I like to write at home in a private area, I write ideas in my phone thru out the day so when I’m able to sit down to a beat I put it all together, I write everyday, I pride myself on being a writer so I create everyday.
What makes you different to other rappers out there? I’m special cause music runs thru my blood, my family is strong rooted in music and its just in me, I’m able to make music that doesn’t lack lyrical ability, but still keeping the songs fun and entertaining. I will never dumb down my music to appeal to people I will make music that appeals to everyone.
Pyro. How was the recording and writing process? How you came out with the album’s title? The title was easy, as a kid I played with lighters and I set notebook paper on fire and my mom would call me a pyromaniac lol, during the writing and recording process I would review a song and my first reaction would be “This song fire” so pyro stuck, now I wanna create a whole series of PYRO mixtapes, look out for PYRO 2..The NSS Edition.
So you are planning to hit the road? Most definitely I’m planing a tour for the top of the year 2013 called P.O.L.O, you will know what that stands for soon enough, I wanna do like 10 to 12 stops, mostly schools and sneaker boutiques.
What has been one of the funniest moments you have been or took part while touring? Just performing period , things like tripping over the mic cord, girls asking to touch my beard lol and me having a way better set then the headlining act lol that’s pretty funny to me.
Where can we find more about your music? My twitter I update all the time, @KCJonesLive my blog KCJoneslive.blogspot.com, I’ll be revamping my website shortly.
Are there any more plans for the future? Yes just many more mixtapes, albums, and ill be putting out tons of visuals for PYRO and PYRO 2, just more visuals for sure that’s important these days.
Do you feel you are moving on the right direction? Absolutely, without a big support system I continue to get work done and make things happen, long as I stay loyal to the music I feel everything else will fall in Place. Thank you guys for contacting me, I will be sure to keep you guys updating on everything I do - Ventsmagazine

WAffle Gang #10 feat Ang 13/Kc Jones - Waffle Gang Radio Host Awdazcate
Known amongst his peers as “the cool kid to be around”, Chicago Native Cameron “KC” jones has a thought provoking, lyrical style sure to leave an impression on anyone in tune with good music. Cameron “KC” Jones, has always had an ear for music, growing up he quickly gravitated to the likes of Rap artist Eminem, who was the first one to inspire KC’s writing style at a young age.
“ I remember my early writings being comical and harsh like Eminem when I was kid. I was just instantly in tune with his music and how people just naturally wanted to listen to him without having to be asked or persuaded”.
Eminem was not his only source of inspiration, he also rocked with Camron, Common, Kanye West, Juelz Santana, 50 Cent, Chaka Khan, CA!N, and T.I.
Music has always been apart of KC’s lifestyle, whether it was recording music in his early years with friends in high school, writing a R&B song, or venting thoughts to his 3 yr. old daughter Lyric, he never lost sight of being involved in music. But, it was running into his childhood friend, and one half of the group “The Odd Couple” that took his music to another level. He began working on solo projects and gaining the drive and passion to compete against other artist rapping style, and work ethic. “From the Mic to the Boards” Kc was on his grind to create a buzz for himself as solo artist, linking up Chicago producer TJ Allen and The Soul Lifters.
“ We clicked instantly, cause his beats have that bounce and you have to bob your head when a track comes on, and that’s what I want people to do when they hear my music”.
He didn’t stop there; he also worked with Proseed who has a “hip hop soul, vintage sound” that put KC in a story telling state of mind. KC has worked with both producers since 2007 and his music has certainly evolved and reached above and beyond expectations since then.
Kc brings balance to the game as far as “party”/ hip-hop songs, and keep his music fun but also stay creative with lyrics, and ideas and not conforming to just one sound. Kc released his first solo effort “Limelight Vol 1.” In 2007 and is currently set to release “PYRO” featuring all original songs, features including former ODD Couple member CA!N in April 2012. Kc has had the chance to perform at in store events for Akin Chicago, Leaders 1354, Potential Villain and Nike events such as Sneak & Eat 2011. Be on the look out for future projects from KC; this is only the beginning of lasting future for the Chicago Native in this industry.

Bio
Chicago native Cameron "KC" Jones has a fun, thought provoking, lyrical style sure to leave an impression on anyone in tune with good music. Cameron grew up on the southeast side of Chicago in the late 80s to the late 90s. KC grew up in a family full of artist, so early on he naturally experimented with writing, recording, and performing. Early on he aspired to be a singer, but then he heard Eminem and he found out rap was for him.
KC reflects "I remember my early writings being comical and harsh like Eminem when I was kid. I was just instantly impressed by the story telling aspect and the fact I felt like I knew him just from the music. He seemed so genuine in where he was from and his family upbringing that i was just hooked."
Some other early inlfuences were Camron, Common, Kanye West, Juelz Santana, 50 Cent, Chaka Khan, CA!N, and T.I. , Dipset, Curren$y, wiz khalifa, lil wayne, Jay- Z, Biggie, Tupac, Future, Eminem, Dr Dre, Big Sean, G Herbo, Lupe Fiasco, King Louie, Neptunes, Pusha T, Smoke Dza, Odd future.
Working on his newest effort "Firedrill" its definitely a worthy follow up to his 2012 release "PYRO". With only two features on the project, KC is firing back at all the non believers. You can follow KC's track list as far back as 2007 when he linked up with childhood friend CAIN to become the duo The Odd Couple. As a group these guys stormed the Chicago scene performing for brands, and at venues all over Chicago. During their run they completed three bodies of work, " I Cant Feel Shit Vol. 1", "I Cant Feel Shit Vol.2 The Hangover", "Cain & KC's Excellent Adventure". KC had always been recording music solo, it was really all about timing. KC is slowing coming unto his own and building a brand that has not been tapped by any Chicago artist. KC Jones is what you would consider a seasoned new artist. He has learned so much along this journey that whatever he does next is expected to be big. In 2013 on the celebrated 4/20 date KC linked with long time friend and producer The Proceed teamed up to bring you Dirty Gamblers. This project took KC to New York City to do a photoshoot with Rocksmith Clothing and it secured him gigs throughout Chicago after its release. PYRO & Dirty Gamblers are so different and alike in so many ways it shows the versatility of him as a artist. The future looks bright for KC Jones the artist. Look out for him in 2017.Band Members
