Bio
With haunting folksy melodies reminiscent of Joni Mitchell’s
offbeat style topped with a twist of a “young Taylor Swift vibe” in her
writing, according to a Nashville Songwriter’s Association (NSAI) evaluator,
Kallie Medley brings a sense of peace and formidable power to the stage.
Her song lyrics, fraught with emotional thematic elements, often tell a story from
a perspective one has never heard before.
Even still, Medley’s lyrics often pale in comparison to her pure vocals showcased
by her rich honey toned voice. Her style
cannot be wholly captured by one specific genre, but instead, she invokes
elements of a variety of styles, weaving them effortlessly within her lyrics
and melodies until you find yourself transported into her world.
Medley is gaining notice wherever she goes and has been designated multiple
times as “One to Watch” by NSAI, was the youth winner as well as People’s
Choice in Lake Eufaula’s Got Talent 2017, one of the top 26 in the world of the
NSAI Anthem Chapter Challenge 2019 with her debut song "Burn It
Down," and has been said to possess a “Carrie like” voice by Nashville
music industry pros. In addition, she has brought her fearless force to
some of the most iconic stages in the nation, such as the Oklahoma Jazz
Hall of Fame, Bluebird Café, Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame, Bitter End, Bean
Runner Café, Oklahoma Blues Hall of Fame, Mohansic Country Club in
Westchester, and Belcourt Taps in Nashville, as well as opened the Battle
of the Bands at the Hard Rock Café on Beale Street when she was only 15
years old and has been invited to perform at numerous Oklahoma festivals.
In spite of her diminutive stature, Medley is gaining momentum on a huge scale,
but more importantly she feels a welcomed kinship with the artists and
songwriters with whom she shares the stage.
With several years of public performance under her belt, including a few
on her church worship team as well as two years commuting 1,200 miles, Medley
finally took the leap of faith to make Nashville her home to further
pursue her career as both a songwriter and an artist.
