JTrain began as a songwriting collaboration between singer and frontman Jordan Grossman and guitarist Jerome Goosman in the summer of 2014. Looking to add a harder and funkier edge to the pop r&b inspired songs, they recruited bassist Jeff Moro and drummer Willie Bruno, both professional working musicians and college buddies of Jerome.
That summer it was apparent after the first few rehearsals in Jeff's basement and a couple local bar gigs, that this collaboration would be much more than just a vehicle for a few catchy pop tunes. The jazz fusion influences that Jeff and Willie brought to the table added a new dimension of improvisation and instrumental virtuosity that is rarely seen in radio-friendly pop music.
They spent the next year perfecting their live performance and crafting a five song EP, which was recorded and mixed in just three months. With a fresh sound, an energetic live performance and strong hooks, JTrain is building a fan base in the New York area and is looking forward to sharing their unique blend of rock to the masses.
