“Into a Ghost” is the debut single from Josh Mover & The Shakers, but it feels like more like something from a band 2-3 albums into their career — with a polished, dreamy sound and confident vocals from Mover as he sings of fading love. It’s our Song of the Day.
Joining the frontman on “Into a Ghost” is drummer Benjamin Reinhartz (also of Dilly Dally) and bassist Mathew Wronski from The Sulks. It’s from the band’s forthcoming EP of the same name. Check out the Pedja Milosavljević-directed video below. - somethinggoodmusic.com
Sarcastic, but direct. Caustic, but melodic. Cutting, but heartfelt. Smart ass, but working class. Josh Mover & The Shakers new EP is a study in juxtaposition. ‘Into a ghost’ is confounding in the best way. Is this a punk rock record? Pub rocket? Elvis Costello reborn? A takedown of modern romance? A plea to the forgotten? A million questions, and one answer: a absolute earworm of a listen. Sit down, grab a whiskey, and hopefully a lyric sheet. Every witticism is a must hear. - New noise magazine

Bio
Josh Mover started writing songs long before he could ever grow a beard. In the twenty plus years that he has been composing tunes, Josh has developed a knack for creating emotionally powerful songs across a wide range of genres. In 2017, along with the help of some good friends and musicians, he formed the indie-rock outfit Josh Mover & The Shakers (JMATS). They released their debut EP Into A Ghost to critical acclaim, with New Noise Magazine heralding it as an “absolute earworm of a listen”. In September of 2018 he was a resident at the internationally recognized Banff Centre for Arts & Creativity, where he focused on writing songs for his band's first full-length release. Melding together a love of frenetic rock n roll, pop music and lyrical storytelling, JMATS have garnered a reputation of putting on engaging shows that get audiences moving and singing along.
