Bio
Jonna Mae is a singer/songwriter raised in Gypsum, Colorado currently living in Waco, Texas. She plays acoustic guitar, mandolin, drums, sings harmony, as well as lead vocals.
Coming from a family of musicians has been one of her biggest sources of motivation. Her father (Dana Spigener) played with Janie Fricke and her uncle (Derek Spigener) still tours with Charley Pride. Their influence is part of why she has over 25 original songs and is finishing her debut album with Steve Polusek of Awesome Works Studio. She also completed a small EP when she was 13 with the well known guitarist and producer David Zajicek, which was a key factor in her being asked to open for Ted Nugent at the Zajicek Benefit after his passing.
SInce coming to Texas, she has become the most recent recipient of the 2015/16 Horizon Award, awarded by the Music Association of Central Texas for most up and coming musician. Before moving to Texas to pursue her career, she was the winner of the 2013 Texaco Country Showdown in Salida, Colorado, leading to her opening for Kenny Rodgers in Copper Mountain, Colorado shortly after.
Her passion and unique writting style make her one of the premier upcoming artists Central Texas Has to offer.
