Bio
Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Jeremy Hatch plays folk, blues, country and fingerstyle guitar music. He started out as a classical pianist and guitarist, but through his twenties he was inexorably drawn to studying the folk music of several nations, and out of a deep appreciation for the broad Appalachian tradition, he began adapting old songs into updated and personal versions. Soon thereafter, when he discovered the music of Townes Van Zandt & Leo Kottke, he began writing original songs and instrumental pieces.
Other well-known points of reference for his music are Wilco, Jason Isbell, Doc Watson, Gillian Welch, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Harry Taussig, Dave Van Ronk.
He is now working on a full-length album which combines these folk, blues, country and fingerstyle guitar influences with his classical roots. He lives in Oakland and regularly performs throughout California and the Pacific Northwest.
