Jazz Will’s Expected Excellence might have carried a sort of lofty title for a mixtape but it bordered on being one of the more solid under the radar releases in Houston last year. “In My Zone” shares some of the common balance with hard violin strings and straight forward braggadocio from the Mo. City product. The visual directed by Eight Hour Films pretty much matches Jazz’s thoughts, except there’s plenty of women in bikini’s acting as if Miri Ben-Ari had to become a video vixen to maintain relevancy. Bio
Born and raised in Missouri City, TX (in the Houston metropolitan area), the 29 yr-old producer & artist Jazz Will brings a unique twist to the style & culture that is Houston. Stemming from his childhood days of attempting to make songs with a Casio keyboard, microphone, and karaoke machine, he has always been keen to making music. However, throughout his life he had become recogninzed as a basketball player.
Even so, Jazz Will always wrote rhymes & poetry as a second passion and was even well respected at times of freestyle cyphers with friends or family. Within the past few years though, music began to take more of a front seat in his life when he began to officially produce, and now this year record as an artist. His influences include, but aren’t limited to, UGK, Biggie, Jay-Z, Tupac, Nas, Outkast and Z-Ro.
Jazz Will keeps a steady balance of lyrical prowess and sharp witty rhymes in his music as well as exhibitions of story telling. He has music for any demographic which makes him able to perform at any type of arena or event and leave a long lasting impression. In one instance he can take a party to the next level, and in another instance he can smoothen things out and create an unmistakeable vibe that takes you to that special place. The only thing he asks of the world is to listen with an open heart & mind, the rest will take care of itself.
