Short Bio

Jaymellz is a singer/rapper/songwriter/producer from Aiken, South Carolina. He was born into a musical family, he discovered his talent of singing at the age of seven. He later discovered his love for rap at the age of fifteen. He began writing and producing in 2009. Jay has dropped 3 mixtapes (one with Atlanta’s DJ smalls, 2 Ep’s and 1 Album.

How long have you been doing music?

I been singing since seven, rapping since fifteen, writing and producing since nineteen. But I didn’t start getting serious until ‘09 so nine years.

Describe your style

My style is random. I make mood music, so it really depends on what I’m feeling. But most of my songs are real life situations, things I’ve been through or things I’m trying to do.

What Makes You Unique?

I’m a DIY type of guy, so if I want something done. I’ll do it myself, hence my independence and the majority of my music being done with no help. Also I’m very passionate, versatile, and determined...There is no plan b.

When and where was your first performance? (What song?)

My first performance was in 2003 at a talent show called “take the mic”, it was at the USC Aiken convocation center in front of 300 people. The song I performed was and R&B song called “All for you”

An incident in life that you feel made u who you are as an artist

The moment that defined me as a singer was the first time I sung for a girl and made her cry...and the moment I left my biggest critic speechless defined me as a rapper.
