Bio
James Dupré, named one of “10 Country Artists You Need to Know,” by Rolling Stone Magazine, has a stellar baritone voice and has shared that voice with his fans on social media platforms like YouTube, where he has surpassed 10 million views. The former EMT-Paramedic is a Bayou Chicot, Louisiana native.
James was handpicked by Randy and Mary Travis as guest vocalist on The Music of Randy Travis 2019 tour. James performed Randy Travis hits with Travis’s original touring band, and with Mr. Travis appearing at each event. Stops included the legendary Mother Church of Country Music, The Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN, among others.
One might think that it all started when millions of viewers saw James get the highly coveted 4-chair turn, earning a spot with Adam Levine’s team on NBC’s The Voice, but this was not his first taste of fame. Before The Voice, James’ high visibility on YouTube captured the attention of Ellen DeGeneres, landing him a guest appearance on “Ellen”. This national exposure was followed by the release of his album, Stoned to Death. The album rendered the successful Billboard charting single by the same name, as well as over a million streams to date. James co-wrote the majority of the tracks on the album.
“Home and Away”, co-written by James, is his current single, recorded with Grammy-nominated producer Matt McClure (Lee Brice).
