Jahwula

Jahwula, enjoys meditating to New Amerykah Part 1, and listens to The Blueprint as motivation for challenging days. Through song, Jahwula articulates freely, singing with joy, abundantly.  
With no formal education, Jahwula started singing in local Philadelphia church choirs, and eventually transitioned into musical theater. Over the years she has receiving vocal training under the instruction of The Lisa Willson Vocal Academy, Sherry Wilson Butler, and Kate McGarry/Jazz Camp West; cultivating a flowery, magnetic and soothing vocal tone of mix registers.An Enthusiastic Learner , she has been dedicated to mastering her craft and sharing her gifts with the world. 
Jahwula’s sultry sound, is inspired by the soulful sounds of, Eva Cassidy, Nancy Willson, Erykah Badu, Mariah Carey, Jill Scott and Lauryn Hill. With her dynamic ability to engage audiences, authentically, Jahwula’s worked with veteran artist and ensembles, like pianists, Walter Bankovitch, The late Chappy Washington and Peter Nero’s The Philly Pops. She is currently based in Los Angeles, developing her first EP project and recently won 1st place, in the Jazz Search West 2016 Competition. And, now, with endless pleasure, we present to you, Jahwula.
