The video for "Walk Away" is taken from their forthcoming EP Animal's Grace in August. Jeremy Piven makes a cameo stand-in for the drummer throughout.

According to Hy Brasil's Andrew Jones...

We went to Malibu the next morning with our instruments and filmed the whole day, half of the day spent capturing shots of us playing our instruments on the beach. It just so happened we were filming in front of Jeremy Piven's house, he was home and very intrigued with what we were doing.
Mr Piven came over to us, he ended up telling us that he played drums, so I told him to play them in between takes. He let us film him and said it was ok to use the footage, so that is why Jeremy Piven is in the video.
It was a very random day but we were all very happy with the way it turned out. Sean Flynn is a very talented filmmaker, and we couldn't have done this video without the beautiful unicorn Shannon Lewis! - Huffington Post

"Ventura County best bands"

HY BRASIL
Like the mythical island, Hy Brasil is also shrouded in mystery, dubbing itself “harp rock” and burning up the L.A. and Ventura music scenes. Frontman Wyatt Hull, formerly of local electro-alternative duo Gypsy Death Star, joins three members of Rey Fresco: Xocoyotzin “Xoco” Moraza on harp and requinto (a high-pitched guitar); Shawn Echevarria on bass; and Andrew Jones, the Saint Archer brewery ambassador, on drums and synth. Rounding out the group is Nikolaus Gonzalez, whom Hull calls the “life force” of the band as the songwriter and guitarist. The result is equal parts ambient chill and electro rock, and yes, the harp is prominent. The music video for the single “Walk Away” features a cameo by actor Jeremy Piven (Entourage); and the opening track to the band’s five-track EP Animal’s Grace, “Drive It Like You Stole It,” was featured in the X-Games gold-medal-winning performance by skateboarder Mike Mo. While Atlantis may forever remain at the bottom of the ocean, Hy Brasil’s popularity is rising. Catch ’em before they become legend. Photo by: Scott Soens.

Bio

Hy Brasil Fueled by the vocals of lead singer and ultimate showman Wyatt Hull and the unique sounds of harpist Xocoyotzin Moraza, Hy Brasil are the culmination of an intertwined past in which several band members were former colleagues in other bands.

Spurred by their previous success in local outfit Rey Fresco, Moraza, drummer Andrew Jones, and bassist Shawn Echevarria teamed up with Hull (The Colour, Cheetahsaurus, & Gypsy Death Star) and riffing guitarist and songwriting extraordinaire Nikolaus Gonzalez in late 2014 to form Hy Brasil.

While Hull often draws comparisons to Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and The Cure’s Robert Smith, much of Hy Brasil’s intensity stems from Jones’ drumming. It is this intensity that has caused the band to begin building a following on Ventura’s stages. As evidenced by Hy Brasil’s very warmly received sold out shows at the Santa Barbara Bowl & Ventura Theater, music fans will always be drawn to a band that performs like they mean it.

Hy Brasil’s creativity is not limited to the band’s songwriting. Moraza has been playing the harp since age three, and is an integral part of the band’s sound. His father builds Moraza’s harps, while Jones builds his own drums out of fiberglass before he seemingly attempts to destroy them on stage.

All this creative designing prowess represents Hy Brasil’s attempt to make a name for themselves in modern rock via their own distinct methods, fully aware of the potential risks - and the rewards - of those who choose to do so.
