Bio
Fueled by a bracing mix of political thrust and double-edge fantasy, Brooklyn heavy alt-rock band HUNDRED HOUNDS meld classic '70s American soul-rock gestures with the complex dynamics and intrigue of the best European art-rock, indie and metal bands. Hailed for their "stunning tour-de-force performances"—including a packed CMJ 2015 performance at Rockwood Music Hall with fellow NYC provocateurs Mother Feather, Paris Monster and Secret Someones—the buzzed-about quartet of "heavy gentlemen" came together in 2015, a shared vision by members of Mr. Bungle, Air, The Last Royals, and Walking Shapes, and featuring lead singer Colin Smith, the incendiary former frontman for Ireland's acclaimed Mr. North. Flippant, philosophical, ferocious and most certainly on-fire, Hundred Hounds tracks like "The Ranger," "Paris Apache" and "Ride the Night" suggest a modernist Zeppelin, chasing the muse of poetic metal, blues and soul, with swagger sufficient to make up for all the time rock music has lost in abandoning it.
