Homegrown's video for their latest single, "Throwback," will make anyone who was raised in small town America long for home.
The Georgia-based group consists of brothers Craig and Kevin Brannon, along with lifelong friends Megan Blair and Jason Cole. They recently released a new EP, Georgia, that pays homage to their roots, and they continue in that vein with the new video for "Throwback," which is debuting exclusively with Taste of Country.
The video captures the simple magic of being in love in an idyllic small town setting, heading out for a date that consists of hitting some local spots before spreading a blanket and sipping some wine out in nature. The fun but laid-back video captures the spirited, loose energy of the track, which is contemporary and up-tempo while still remaining true to Homegrown's country roots.
The Brannon brothers and Cole co-wrote the song with Jonathan Dean.
"Just like the writing process for 'Throwback,' we also wanted the video to capture what it's like growing up in the rural South, losing track of time with the one you love," lead singer Craig Brannon tells us.
"It really hits on a personal level with me. Filming shots in my hometown and even having my wife, Kayla, co-star pretty much sums up what a typical date would look like for us, which is something I think all of our fans can relate to -- real life."
The five-song Georgia EP is the follow-up to Homegrown's full-length debut album, 2015's Summer Song. It is available on iTunes. For more information about Homegrown, visit their official website, or follow the group on Facebook and Twitter. - Taste Of Country
The Georgia-based four-piece Homegrown are premiering their new song “Georgia” exclusively for readers of The Boot.
Obviously named after the group's state of origin, “Georgia” is a loving and nostalgic ode to Homegrown's roots. Homegrown band members Craig Brannon, Kevin Brannon and Jason Cole co-wrote the song with Danny Simpson.
"Even though "Georgia" is written from an artist’s perspective, I feel like it's a concept anyone can relate to who's been away from wherever they call home too long,” vocalist Craig Brannon tells The Boot. “Not to sound too cliche, but there's no place like home."
Comprised of the Brannon brothers, drummer Cole and vocalist Megan Blair, Homegrown will release their Georgia EP on Friday (April 7). The six-song collection is the followup to Homegrown’s independently released full-length debut album, Summer Song, which they dropped in 2015, and chronicles a period of growth for the band.
"We couldn't be more excited for our fans to finally hear what we've been working so hard towards -- not only maturing as writers and artists, but collaborating with some of Nashville's top songwriters,” says Kevin Brannon. “I believe we've created our best work to date!"

Emerging country music group Homegrown's "Throwback" music video will surely put you in a summertime mood. Enjoy it right here!
Many use the term ‘homegrown’ in the context of organic produce and livestock or to denote a certain set of values or way of life. For the members of Georgia-based Homegrown (Craig Brannon, Kevin Brannon, Megan Blair, and Jason Cole), their name refers to the sound and substance of their songs—earthy but bright, honest, undeniably country music created by four lifelong friends playing in a band and experiencing life together.
The quartet’s video for their latest single, “Throwback,” will make anyone who hails from a small town instantly nostalgic with its rural scenery and laid-back vibes. The tune is featured on Homegrown’s new five-song EP, appropriately dubbed Georgia, which is the follow-up to the group’s full-length debut album, 2015’s Summer Song.
