Introducing Ghost Of The Pacific, formed January 2017 from the core remains of Ashes of Mercury. They are a creative mix of multiple styles and interests, to “create our unique sound. When we write, we don’t try to emulate anyone else. We want to create music and express ourselves in the most natural, highly-collaborative way without forcing it to conform to any mold laid down by others. This gives us the creative freedom necessary to explore what’s possible.”
Based in Bothell, Washington, USA, this band includes Sean Kebely on guitar, David Kebely on keys, Tom Evans on bass, Michael Ball on drums and Josh Williams on vocals. Their music, being very eclectic ranges from Blues Rock, Rock Ballad, Hard Rock, Metal and Progressive Metal. Influenced by Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Periphery, TesseracT and Skyhardbor.
I had the immense pleasure becoming acquainted with Josh Williams through a group we are both a part of on Facebook, called 365 Days of Gratitude by Lilith Klemnitz. Josh wrote that he was grateful for a good show and of course it caught my attention. A couple clicks of my mouse and I was able to check out his bands page on Facebook. I knew immediately they are a band to watch and that I had to talk to them. So I added Josh as a friend and through him, most of the band and I are now familiar.
I have been a supporter of Ghosts Of The Pacific since I heard them first in 2017. I am not going to lie, I am a hard rock girl that loves her wavy, moody music that is somewhat borders on rebellious and just plain crass, which of course is why I love grunge so much but what grips me about this band is their raw talent and cohesive nature in their music. While I admit they have all the makings of what would attract my chops, they have something a touch different, with only a hint of sound that is reminisce of the Pacific Northwest howl but puts a new shine on rock music that is refreshing coming out of the former grunge city of the world. While their influences are from that genre of rock, I maintain their wide array of talents and tastes make for a rock journey that stands on their own
We will be doing a full feature on these fella’s very soon when they release their full album, but until now, here is a little treat. They have graciously sent me their new song,
New Forgotten.
