Garrett Jacobs

Garrett Jacobs began singing and playing guitar at the young age of 11. As he grew older he honed his guitar skills as well as his vocal abilities. He has performed locally before large audiences and has been awarded first place in several talent shows. Garrett has had a long standing love of music that dates back to before he could play the guitar and sing publically. He grew up singing in church and leading youth worship.  

At the age of 17, he began the American Idol audition process.  Through this process that began with approx 300,000 auditions, Garrett performed for Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie as well as nationwide audiences. He performed a duet with Colbie Caillat as part of the competition. His journey brought him to the live shows as a Top 14 contestant.  

Since Garrett’s end on American Idol he has performed concerts for Miss USA and Miss Teen USA contestants as well as local events and festivals. He is currently slated to open for Montgomery Gentry for the Independence Festival in Shreveport, LA on July 4. Additionally, he released a cover of “Have You Ever Seen the Rain” by Creedence Clearwater Revival on all platforms. The song was  his last performance on American Idol. Garrett’s version climbed the iTunes Charts and peaked at 13 on the Singer/Songwriter Charts. He is also in the process of recording new material to be released.

While Garrett has always wanted a career in music, the American Idol process has ignited the fire to pursue music exclusively.  He is looking for an opportunity to grow and flourish as a recording artist.
