Gary Altamirano, also known as G.A.R., was born January 17th, 1993 in the rough streets of Mexico City, Mexico where he lived for his infant years. At the age of 4, Gary saw his cousin get shot in the head for a minor dispute over a soccer ball. Almost getting kidnapped in 1999, was when Gary's mother decided she'd had enough and moved them to Dallas, Texas. Ever since the age of 3, Gary had been intrigued by music in general. At the age of 6 he started listening to rap music from Snoop Dogg and Biggie that his older cousins and uncles had introduced him to. From a very early age Gary would sneak cassette and CD players into school. At the age of 16 Gary started rapping, influenced by rappers like Lil Boosie and Joe Budden. Gaining reputation from neighborhood cyphers, G.A.R. attracted clothing sponsors from Dallas based companies such as Army Of Fly Co., and Woodgrain Innovations. G.A.R.’s future plans are to bring a unique voice with a purpose and point into Rap and Hip Hop music. Influences: J.Cole, Mac Miller, Juicy J, and Kanye West.
