About
You could easily call singer-songwriter, Ernie Dufour, prolific. He's basically made it his creative mission to write, produce, and record three songs every month and in 2022 alone, he released four albums and one EP: Hollow Moon, Timeology, Before The Dawn, Stable Sound Recordings EP, and Pursuit of the Hard Life.
Drawing from Ernie's classic rock background, something that has followed him since he picked up the guitar at age five, The Best of 2022, is the perfect compilation to introduce Ernie's soulful rock to new listeners.
Inspired by the guitar heroes of the past and present, Ernie's playing at times feels like RUSH, ZZ Top, Eric Clapton, or Neil Young and his lyrics are relatable and sentimental, filled with vivid imagery.
One such example is with the lead spiritual single "Ocean Train" or "The River Song," about Ernie's friend, Comrie Smith, who used hang out with none other than Neil Young, and eventually played some music with him.
"Lost in Love" recalls the gypsy jazz influence of Django Reinhardt while "I Hear The Thunder" sounds a bit U2. But at the end of the day, all the songs sound like Ernie Dufour, a musician with a lifelong passion and drive to play and release his music.
Artist Bio
Ernie Dufour is a solo, independent, singer-songwriter, from Waubaushene, Ontario, Canada. He was inspired as a young child (at the age of five) by The Beatles. In Grade One, Ernie and his classmates were asked what they wanted to be when they grew up. Ernie replied: “I want to play guitar and sing like my older brothers!”
Ernie’s dream in life is to create original songs, like The Beatles, and he's been doing that since the late '90s. For Ernie, music has been a lifetime passion, adventure, and challenge. Ernie’s other, main musical inspirations are Deep Purple, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Pink Floyd and Bob Dylan. Most importantly, he is inspired everyday by his two beautiful sons.
Ernie’s main musical sounds are rock, folk rock and blues. He also loves to play country music as well. Ernie plays all of the tracks on his original music including acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass, lead vocals and back up vocals. Rolf Fiesel is Ernie’s current session drummer. Ernie records and produces all of his music at home in his recording studio. Everyday is a struggle of survival. To Ernie, music is life.
