Through a partnership with Reverbnation, Unheard Voices highlights up & coming talent making a noise in the music industry. In an industry that is so cut throat our goal is to find talented artists that often go under represented in an industry that praises mainstream success. This month we’ve chosen up & coming singer Eli Costello. When I heard Eli, I instantly said to myself how come he isn’t on the bills of the likes of the Jason DeRulo’s? His music is impressive and his sound is different and frankly in my opinion unmatched. His music is a blend of hip-hop and rock. He definitely has something great to this industry and that is uniqueness. A lot of artists and music today sounds the same, and Eli definitely defines himself as a league of his own. Born Owen Elijah Brown in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania’s, checkered south side Hall Manor Projects, Eli Costello is the truly the definition of artistry. With a vibe nurtured by living in the neighborhoods of West Philadelphia, he combines storytelling, wordplay, smooth yet gritty vocals, instrumentation and a slick delivery with a vibrant stage presence. His music is a perfect blend of singing and rapping in a style he calls “Bohemian Hip hop” which is a memorable, urban, audible main course for the listener. His first single “Superman” is currently blazing the college/internet radio scene and has been picked up to Coast 2 Coast Mixtape Radio after winning a national spot at the NYC C2C Showcase. With songs like “52nd Street” and “I Met the Devil’ currently building momentum, Eli Costello’s upcoming EP is poised to make some noise through 2016. - Unheard Underground
