Bio
Andre Banks aka "Dre Banks" was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan and has been involved in the music business for just over 20 years. As a working music producer, songwriter and independent label owner, Dre has made a name for himself in the music industry collaborating with numerous artists both well known and up and coming. Among Dre's creative influences are: Notorious BiG, KRS ONE, The LOX, Drake and a few others. As a live performer in the midwest market, Dre Banks has opened up for artists like: 50-Cent and Lloyd Banks of G-Unit, and BG of Cash Money Records. In 2005, Dre Banks had the opportunity to be involved in an independent film working with Philadelphia based production company, Tough Struggle Entertainment. As the film’s co-star, Dre was featured among actors such as Felicia “Snoop” Pearson from the HBO series, “The Wire” and Omillio Sparks of the Rocafella Records group- State Property. In developing his new project, Dre worked alongside his childhood friend, music producer Baby Paul aka BpZy formerly of the legendary 90’s hip-hop production team “Da Beatminerz”. Dre Banks founded his independent label- DreBanks Entertainment in 2012 and is currently in a venture partnership with Atlanta based label, IMF which is distributed by Universal Music Group. Dre Banks Ep. project entitled, “BeastMode” which features guest appearances by: AZ (Nas affiliate) Amil (formerly of Rocafella Records) Soshy (songwriter for Timbaland) and r&b superstar Ne-Yo will be released in late 2015.
