Bio
Dixie Rose has been playing in the bars and coffee houses around Baton Rouge since 1992. One of the artists coming out of Tabby's Blues Box, she currently plays a mixture of blues and acoustics every Wednesday night at Teddy's Juke Joint (last 4 years). A truely prolific songwriter, her songs are audience tested for durability. Influences: the great singer songwriters of the 60's, Jefferson Airplane, Peter Paul & Mary, Led Zepplin, The Carpenters, Show Tunes, Jazz, Blues, Classical Music, and Movie Scores. Relaxed onstage, she mixes stories and songs in the tradition of Larry Garner. Her craft is all about the song. People say she sings like an angel.
