Bio
In a time fueled by instant gratification and over saturation, Ohio’s own, DISMEMBERMENT, have chosen to avoid the common path. Since the band’s formation in the Winter of 2010, they have forged their own way performing with some of the most respected acts in the world of Metal. Sharing the stage with the likes of Mayhem, Immolation, Morbid Angel, Gorguts, Incantation, Death Angel, and countless more, DISMEMBERMENT have taken their unique blitzkrieg black thrash sound across the nation many times over, including touring with greats such as Master and Solstice. Fueled by fierce determination and perseverance, DISMEMBERMENT have continued to grow into a well oiled machine. Booking shows, traveling, and releasing albums on their own finances, while continually pushing themselves and their unique brand of metal to new heights.
2011 saw their first release in the form of an EP, “The Condemned”. At the time, with no member being over the age of 20, they delivered a viciously raw album with a ferocity that harkened back to the early days of Teutonic Thrash Titans such as Kreator. Being herald as, “A solid debut from a promising young band that I can only see progressing and refining their already illustrious sound." - (The Daily Rotation). The final track, "Cryptic Isolation", was featured in Metal Hammer's Issue 221 magazine and included compilation disc amongst heavy hitters, Decapitated, Sepultura, Trivium, All Shall Perish, and more.
Heading back to the drawing board directly after their first release, 2012 saw the release of the band's second EP, "Denied Salvation". This is where DISMEMBERMENT began to mold their trademark melodic black thrash sound. The EP was greatly received amongst many zines/blogs. "Dismemberment certainly have their sound nailed. And boy is it a fine sound to hear." - Metal Recusants. "Denied Salvation serves as proof positive that Dismemberment have, this soon in their career, established a signature sound not quite like any other." - Gogmagogical Blog.
With two EP's under their belt, the band began to spread their brand of black magic to anyone ready to withstand the sonic abuse. Within their first 2 years the band had broken out from their Ohio roots to new cities such as, Indianapolis, Detroit, and Chicago. Live performances being praised, "They bring to life a new chapter from the glory days when bands like Dissection, Kreator, and Death ruled the land." - National Rock Review.
After 2 years of performing and covering new ground, DISMEMBERMENT returned home to begin work on their first full-length album. On April 29th, 2014, "Embrace The Dark", saw the light of day. Released through Horror Pain Gore Death Productions, the album was greatly received. A more grown, professional, and matured sound than ever before. Churning forward with their signature raw aggression, but this time allowing the songs to breathe, taking their sadistic sound into new musical realms. Although the album received some backlash for not following their typical formula, it opened the door to a wider audience. Being called, "A beautiful album with some real aggression." - Metal As Fuck Blog. Also being noted, "It remains heavy, raw, and dark whilst offering fresh and innovative flavors that combine to make a magnificent release. Get used to the name Dismemberment, they are a force to be reckoned with" - Metal Recusants.
Now, 4 years after their first full length release, the band have brought their ruthless crusade to countless cities. 2016 saw the group pay their first visit to new cities such as Toronto, Montreal, and London, Ontario while touring for "Embrace The Dark". Gaining a rabid, almost cult-like fan base, DISMEMBERMENT are committed to keeping a maniacal grin on their faces. While some members have went on to lend a hand to fellow metal warriors, Acheron, and death metal titans Incantation, they always come home with one thing in mind: More riffs. More shows. MORE METAL!
2018 will see the release of the quartets second full-length album. Expect nothing less than their infectious sonic attack, but with a new bag of tricks. Be on the lookout for this anticipated release and catch DISMEMBERMENT in a city near you!
