Devin Leigh

Devin began his musical career as the lead singer/songwriter/ guitarist of Fort Worth’s notorious Hillbilly Café. A neo-rockabilly band, they released four albums. The band won several Fort Worth music awards including Best Country and Best Rock and Roll Band as well as Band of the Year. Several Rockabilly legends asked the band to back them up, including Gene Sommers, Mac Curtis, and Ronny Dawson, and they were invited to tour with Reverend Horton Heat.

Three times Grammy nominated Pat Green was impressed enough to ask Devin to play guitar on the “Carry On” album. Legendary actor James Hong (Airplane, Seinfeld) personally asked for three of Devin's songs for his movie "Scandalous Behavior," starring him and Shannon Tweed.

When that chapter closed, Devin went solo, immersing himself deeper in all styles of Americana music. He began concentrating on songwriting. Legendary Texas writers like Townes Van Zandt, Paul Ritchey, and Ray Winkler gave Devin personal songwriting help. While touring with a power trio, the Devin Leigh Band, people began to take notice of Devin’s guitar skills. With the offers too great to pass up, he put his singer/songwriter career on hold and became a full time guitar player. Devin took on a job playing for Dallas’s most popular singers, Becca Daylrymple. There he forged his own unique style, blending old school blues and rockabilly with modern rock and country. He co-wrote “No Man’s Land”, featured on the compilation “Texas Unplugged” on the Palo Dura Label.

For the past five years, Devin played guitar for Austin based Bleu Edmondson. Bleu has a gritty, southern style that is full of emotion. Playing around 250 dates a year, the band headlines all the major venues from the south to New York City, selling out many of them. They released a live album “One Voice,” in 2006 to critical acclaim. In 2007 they teamed up with producer Dwight Baker (Kelly Clarkson), to record “Lost Boy.” The album, released under Smith Music, was ranked in the top 20 of the national Americana charts, and in the top ten of most Texas Charts. USA Today named the single “Last Last Time” as one of the top ten buzz worthy songs of 2009, and charted nationally at #9 on the Americana chart. It was also the number one seller on Lone Star Music for 2007! The record was named "Best Album of the year", while the band was named "Best Texas Band of the Year" at the Oklahoma Music Awards. The Bleu Edmondson Band recorded a live DVD/cod at the legendary Billy Bob's Texas, which was voted "Best Live Album", 2009 at the Gruene with Envy awards. In 2009 the band signed with the prestigious Creative Artists Agency. The most recent single, “Finger on the Trigger” went to #3 on Cmt’s top twelve countdown. Devin recently finished colaborating with Dwight Baker again to record Bleu's newest album, "The Future Ain't What It Used to Be." The single "No Room for Mercy" went to #4 on the Texas Chart.

Solo now, Devin is again fronting his band as well as playing solo acoustic shows and joinging top Texas artists such as Jason Boland and Jason Eady on guitar. He and Mike Ryan were winners of the 95.9 Ranch Pickin' Party. His debut album, "Music For the Sole" was released in January of 2011.
