David Winans' pi

David Winans II is the eldest of the Grammy Award winning first-family of Gospel, ‘ The Winans ‘ . Playing guitar on recordings with his brothers (Ronald, Carvin, Marvin and Michael) on their Grammy Award winning albums, he also contributed to brothers Daniel and Benjamin’s ( Bebe) live and recording projects; as well as his sisters Priscilla (Cece), Angelique and Debra. Also doing work with his Father & Mother (Mom & Pops Winans).After touring the world with the Winans’ Family, David settled back in Detroit after living in Los Angeles and being on that scene with his progressive rock band ‘Xairia’ and through many open-mic jams, established David Winans’ pi with fellow guitarist, Greg Nelson. pi , being David’s King Crimson to sorta speak, released it’s first album ’ Songs from The X-Files ‘ back in 2011. It was a sort of homage to songs written while in Xairia that were never recorded, thus the title of the album. Now with a great line-up of players; Marq Speck (keyboards) - Vern Springer  (lead guitar) - Steve Badalament (drums) - Mike Brooks (guitar) - David Staub (guitar & bass) Cheryl Dixon-Bailey - Kymberli Wright -  and Shawn Rule (background vocals) and David Winans II (bass, keyboards and lead vocals - David Winans’ pi’s latest offering; ‘Psalms’ is due to be released 2019 with a couple of singles well into early 2019 already. David has also worked with notable performers and producers, such as; Quincy Jones, Larry McCray, Mark Farner, Mark Pastoria, Nick Trevesick, Seidah Garrett, Kern Brantley, Berlin, etc.
