David Maldonado

David Maldonado was raised listening to many different styles of music, especially Classical and Flamenco. This has motivated him to experiment with different techniques on the guitar. You can hear many influences on his new CD entitled "El Amor De Mi Alma". These beautiful, happy & melancholic, melodies are a great balance from the speed & precision of the scales that jump out from song to song. David has an endorsement from "La Bella Strings".

Introduced to music as a violinist at the age of eight, music was how the Maldonado family spent most of their spare time. David’s father gave him his first and only guitar lesson when he was ten. That lesson awoke in him a passion that became stronger by the day, until it was his soul's consumption.

At fourteen, David and his brothers were performing classical guitar concerts at the University of Arizona. This was the point where the guitar became a serious direction in life. Two years later, David began to study classically under Celin and Pepe Romero, and learned his incredible rasqueado technique from Celedonio Romero.
