Bio
David Bowden seamlessly integrates spoken word poetry with contemporary christian music to create an accessible sound that's more than the sum of its parts. David has performed internationally in front of over half a million people in his career at conferences, concerts, and other events like the World Creativity Forum and TEDx. His poetry received over 4 million views online and has been used by companies like TOMS Shoes and United Airlines. David's latest album, I Used To Be In Love, is the culmination of 7 years' experience seeking to exalt the Bridegroom and beautify the bride.
David was born and raised in Oklahoma where he studied Bible and Biblical Languages at Oklahoma Christian University. In his freshmen year of college, God broke David's heart for the oppressed and marginalized in his community and around the world. During this time of his life, David witnessed his first spoken word performance at the House Of Blues in Chicago. This experience ignited a God-given creativity within David. He began writing and performing spoken word poetry with the desire to become a voice for the voiceless and to highlight neglected truths within the church. Beginning at a local level, David soon began to perform nationally and internationally.
David has released four albums, three DVDs, and a book of poetry to date. Along with physical releases, he also regularly produces online videos that have attracted millions of views. When he's not traveling, David pastors a community group under and within Bridgeway Church in Oklahoma City. He lives in Edmond, Oklahoma with his beautiful wife Meagan and cat Dexter.
