Bio
Dave "Hubcap" Goldenberg is, to put it simply, a smartass with a guitar. His songs are satirical skewers aimed at the excesses and incongruities of modern life, and at the behinds of those steering the hell-bound handbasket we are all riding in.
Honing his musical wit at open mics, Dave has gone on to open for comedians Joan Rivers and Robert Klein, and for folksingers who don't take life too seriously.
Recently, Dave has been turning his music into videos, one of which, "Goin
to a Tea Party," went viral after appearing on Huffington Post and was called by examiner.com "Music satire at its best."
Dave also wrote and directed "La Toiletta," a Nickelodeon short film about a fifth-grade boy whose teacher won't let him go to the bathroom during a test (done, of course, as an operetta). The film won numerous awards on the film-festival circuit. His recent preschool TV series, "Pretend Theater," was nominated for an Emmy.
Dave chose to become a folksinger because, he says, you can get away with signing things you'd get punched in the nose for saying without a guitar.
