The first release by Da Stranger "Shake a Leg" Maxi Single and “So Krucial” Compilation which include songs "C-Town", and "B**ch back Up". Other works include self titled “Da Stranger” Compilation, iRadio "Mixtape" and Coast 2 Coast "The Showcase 16" with associated acts.
He is currently working on the "Dope Boy Bluez” project, blending blues and a rap based mixture which is part of the first released hot single “Keep Dancing”.

Stemming from Louisiana one of America’s hotbeds for progressive Hip-Hop/Rap of the well known "Jigga City" Baton Rouge. John P. Matthews known as "Da Stranger" is one of the leaders in this time of change and diversity in the music scene. He is out on a mission to represent the real sounds of the south.
Da Stranger has the crafty ability to harmonize as he combines a strong and unique tone that blends the worlds of hip-hop, bounce and southern stylized music, leaving dance floors in an uproar. The "Underground" music scene has proven time again its popularity of southern sounds.
