Bio
Daniel and the Sparrows set out to share stories around the world through music with a fresh and unique perspective. As faithful Christians, they seek to create redemptive art with the intention of furthering God's Kingdom. Daniel and the Sparrows is a collaboration of musicians and storytellers working together to make creative albums. Armed with their guitars, a couple of mics, and their musicality, Daniel and the Sparrows invite you to be a part of their efforts to bring hope to the world.
Born in England, raised in Singapore, and now married to an American girl, frontman Daniel Lim has a variety of roots.
Having lived on a ship for a couple of years, Daniel began to take an interest in the stories of people around the world. His natural response was to write and sing their stories back to them through the lenses of his eyes. Music, like a drug, began to get a hold of Daniel, allowing him to speak without words to people who wouldn’t hear him otherwise. Eventually Daniel would write so much he needed a way to remember all the melodies flowing out of him. So he bought a cheap mic at the age of 16 and started recording.
One of the wonders of digital recording lies in its portability. While many resort to building home studios, Daniel decided that it would be fun to make the world his studio. It all began in the alps of Italy. With a mic and guitar, he listened to the stories of the people he met. Then, in a little attic room, he wrote, sang, recorded, and collaborated with anyone around him to create an album. Daniel and the Sparrows was born.
