Bio
Damiou Williams is an American
singer/songwriter, widely known for his charismatic talent and musical
skills. Born in a small town in Indianola, Mississippi, after the passing of his father and separation from his mom; Damiou's family moved him to St. Louis, Missouri by the time he hit the age of 10.
Damiou’s musical journey first started back in 2003, when he decided to take a
shot at the studio and record his first single. To his disappointment, the release of his debut single, aptly titled "I Rock My Forces," did
not bring him fame and fortune. Hungry for success, Damiou continues to practice and grow his career.
Damiou gravitates
toward good music like a moth does to a flame. An infectious smile and
unobtrusive demeanor makes him easily approachable and likable. He
unselfishly gives of himself to his community for youth development and
volunteerism by visiting local high school with his "Integrity Tour." Damiou has received many accomplishments including being
nominated and winning the St. Louis Hot List Award in August of 2011; Hottest male R&B artist 2015 nominee; Hottest New Single 2016 nominee; and opened for various artist such as August Alsina, Bobby V, Murphy Lee, Jeff Hamilton, and J Traxx just to name a few.
“My hope is to inspire kids to dream and push through the difficulties they may
face,” he says with conviction. “I want them to know that dreams can come true
if you keep grinding and have faith in yourself.”
Damiou trains with celebrity vocal coach Stevie Mackey polishing his craft constantly. He's mentored by St. Louis producer/singer Bradd Young, who
helped record, engineer and arrange his latest hit single, “Bring That Azz Here”
His future goals include having his own record label in which he can help
artists like himself who are slightly against the norm, and to continue making
great music.
