DAGO

Born into the flavorful streets of Little Havana (Miami), Florida, “Dago” was always steps away from the music of his Cuban culture. Coming from a huge family & 1 of 5 children, his parents raised him off of disco & afro-Cuban jazz while his 3 older sisters opened him up to the world of hip-hop, afro-beats, and electronic music. Dago wears many hats when it comes to his music. Starting off as a DJ at the age of 13, he stepped foot into the music scene as a DJ/Producer in 2013 DJing various Miami Beach pool parties under the Red Rabbit Presents label/brand. In the following years he would go on to establish weekly residencies at SLSLuxe Brickell, SLS Brickell, and Black Market Miami, while annually appearing on MMW lineups at the Shelborne & Surfcomber hotels on South Beach. In recent years he has become known for self-producing, engineering, songwriting, and doing the vocals for all of his original music. His debut album titled "Where From Here?" was released on July 27th of 2019 and has received a great response in the local music community. In the wake of the album, it has been made very clear that versatility is a major component to Dago's success. His biggest inspirations in music currently are the one and only Tillery James, Kaytranada, Jared Jackson, Mr. Carmack, Masego, FKJ, Jiggz & Damis, Ray Ali, and Madison Ryann Ward. Currently, Dago is an active member of the local collective DMND Recordings, which features a versatile lineup of producers, MCs, singer/songwriters, and DJs. The DMND team features super-producer/DJ Ray Ali (the man behind rapper Johnny OZ's music), booming local rappers Jiggz & Damis, and singer/songwriter Kheldon Houston, also known as "Young Sovl".
