Bio
D.R.U. is the production alias of Andrew Krause. Born and raised in San Diego,
Andrew recorded and toured with several rock and blues bands before turning to
electronic production. As an electronic dance artist, Andrew draws from dubstep,
electro, house, and glitch influence. His major influences include Virtual Riot, Madeon, Porter
Robinson, Skrillex, Kill the Noise, Feed Me, Zedd, Flume and Zomboy-
just to name a few. Andrew began D.R.U. in August of 2014, and since then, he
has released many remixes as well as original tracks, quite a few of which have
been featured by blogs and labels. Support includes Evoked Natives, Magic Records, Wicked
Records, Trap Nation, and EDM identity to name a few. In addition to releasing a
steady stream of remix work via digital distribution outlets, D.R.U. has three
original EPs.
Outside of dance music, Andrew works as a recording engineer, composer,
producer, and teacher. As a writer for publishers, Andrew has credits on over 185 different television episodes. Notable shows include: MTV’s Catfish, Project
Runway, So Cosmo, 12 Reasons Why, NCAA March Madness, and Viceland. As
a music producer, his past production credits include: Nappy Roots, Will Jay,
Kevin Kennedy iii, followJOJOE, MurdockHD, Ray Champion, Nilaja Gardner,
India Carney, Ryan Bowers, Stevie Harris, and many more. In September of
2019, Andrew published a text book focusing on music theory for electronic
musicians. He also maintains a youtube tutorial channel, where he covers many
different topics. He also developed a class series for renowned San Diego
recording studio: Studio West. He continues to teach various classes for the
program.
