Daniel Carter (aka D. Carter) is a new singer/rapper/songwriter on the Baltimore scene. Growing up he played drums for the church where his grandmother was Pastor, from which he expounded his music pallette and began sampling other genres such as jazz, rap, neo-soul, and old school. This single “Frontin” is one of the few tracks he has on his Soundcloud playlist at the time, but I think he’s worth listening to. - Janae Griffin
It’s hard to classify the sound of Baltimore’s own, D.Carter, to one specific genre as his melodic flow harmonizes over a 3am beat in his new release, Runway Ave. This is an edgy track off his highly anticipated EP entitled “Out of the Basement” and it does not disappoint. - BSHH

Bio
D. Carter, a 26 year old Baltimore based singer and songwriter, is the “next star of the new class of R&B singers.” D invites listeners on a journey that reconnects them to love, lust, passion and the luxury of life.
Born Daniel Carter, the young musician, had an important musical influence as a youngster. His grandmother, a pastor, got him involved with the Youth Choir at her church, where he served as the choir's drummer. That foundation, which D. Carter shares with legions of the world's greatest entertainers, grounded him and enabled him to stretch toward an appreciation of varied musical genres. He listened to R&B, jazz and rap, with his favorites becoming neo-soul and Old School music. This has made D. Carter a versatile, original singer/songwriter, with a fresh sound.
After stints in various local underground groups such as R.O.T.T.E.N and WolfPack Worldwide in 2013, D made the jump to going out on his own. He teamed up with his longtime friend Adam Hall, who had just found his management group, to make a run for super stardom. With a sound that’s very unique, that encompasses both vocals and raps, he was able to put together a project that became a fan favorite and instant classic. The project entitled “Out of the Basement” had 11 tracks that put many things in to prospective where you can learn about the artist who is D. Carter. With leading singles such as “Frontin” and “Sleepless Nights” that captivates more of the raw R&B style to the more uptempo Baltimore club feel of “808s”, he embarked on travels that took him up and down the East Coast. Opening major national recording acts such as Ginuwine and Dwele, and playing some of the biggest venues such as The Howard Theatre, SOB’s, NYC Arena and Baltimore Soundstage, D has become a masterful performer; a “rockstar” of some sorts, as his manager Adam Hall would say.
Gearing up for a Summer 2016 release of another project not yet titled, you can be sure that D. Carter aims for greatness with his music.
