I thought it was time to mix things up and feature our first non rock act here at Help for Musicians. I jumped at the chance to feature Contrabanda, one of Chicago’s hottest Latin ensembles. I spoke with Danny Howard who put the band together.

Contrabanda - We play anything from Old school Salsa to Latin Jazz, Brazilian Jazz, Latin Funk, Latin Pop music. All the musicians that play in Contrabanda are working musicians and teachers in the city of Chicago. We strive to enjoy ourselves on stage, which should in turn make for an enjoyable outing with you.
We can arrive in a vareity of sizes. Anything from a small Latin Jazz Quartet upto a 10-piece Salsa Band with Vocals.
