Continental Standard

Continental Standard offers American standards with a continental flair! Drawing primarily from a repertoire of songs by American composers, the group blends jazz elements with Italian and Latin interpretations. The synthesis occurs naturally when the talents of well-known Italian tenor John Carelli and accomplished jazz guitarist Frank DiBussolo are combined - and ably backed with a strong rhythm section.

John and Frank have performed together numerous times as a duo, always to an enthusiastic response. John's talents as a classically trained tenor are well-known, both in the Lehigh Valley and beyond. He has a unique ability to adjust effortlessly between classical/operatic and popular singing styles, which complements the extraordinary virtuosity of Frank on guitar. Frank is recognized as a world-class jazz guitarist and musician, who has performed with numerous renowned singers in the past, including Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett. Frank and John have now added a capable combination of talented musicians to augment their already powerful performances.

The music is a combination of the duo's primary strengths, which blends the sophisticated feel of well-known jazz standards with the passion of Italian and Latin music and styles - a new and unique Continental Standard!
