Bio
Born and raised in Bethlehem, PA, Colin O’Leary started his musical journey as a teenager. When he was fourteen years old, he made a decision that would change his life forever. In his mind, he had two choices. He could buy an electric-bass guitar to play in his friend’s band, or he could buy an acoustic guitar. Ultimately, he went acoustic never looked back.
From there, he began taking classical guitar lessons and listening to Simon and Garfunkel tunes on repeat. He spent his nights after school searching YouTube for videos of acoustic musicians to learn as much as he could. While on this hunt, he stumbled across a video that ignited his obsession with folk music and singer-songwriters.
The video was a performance of Bob Dylan playing “Mr. Tambourine Man” at the 1964 Newport Folk Festival. For Colin, it demonstrated the power and courage of songwriting. It showed how a musician could captivate an entire audience with a distinct voice and a few simple chords. At that moment, he knew what he wanted to pursue.
