I first met Chris Baron in early June, when I was writing about him for a newspaper article. He gave me a copy of his CD, which I listened to right away. Three months later, I still have the first track (\"Grand Scheme of Things\") stuck in my head. His tunes are undeniably catchy, like something you\'d expect from pop music, but the music never strays from its gritty rock core. Chris doesn\'t just come up with unusual ways to make new sounds with his voice and guitar, he also takes advantage of no sound at all, throwing pauses into his songs at unexpected places, keeping his listeners perpetually invested, waiting to hear what comes next (case in point: \"Absurd in a Can\"). Chris Baron is a singer-songwriter and all-around musician from Portland Oregon.
He is crafty with his original arrangements, improvs the guitar with the maddeningly smooth style of the practiced and inspired, and makes the kind of music with lyrical and melodic details that you love discovering after the first listen. Unique, stylized, and catchy Americana: music inspired by an apparently interesting west coast life...

Chris Baron writes, arranges, records, and performs at an incredible velocity, with a variety of people in a variety of situations. His two solo albums (Searchlights In Mexico from 2008 and Light Up The Sky from 2014) showcase a distinct style: multi-instrumentalism, dynamic mixes, and imaginative arrangements. He is a constant wheel of creative spitfire, an "in-the-moment folk hero" with a voice reflective of the many music cultures that surround him.
