Child Of Folly

 Child of Folly (CoF) is an experimental, multi-instrumental, mellow-rock group from the surrounding towns of Buffalo, New York. Founded in 2012, the band includes Beau “LA” Brooks on piano/keyboard and vocals, Colin Papendick on bass guitar, Tony Parisi on drums and Kyle Schmidt on lead guitar.  The band also features a male/female duet to bring a familiar style into modern music. The group is also accompanied by multi-instrumentalist Mike Modryznski on Flute, Saxophone and Percussion for a more acoustic-percussive dynamic.

    The band begins with an impressive collaboration of drums, bass, piano and guitar which intrigues the audience with an alternative, soulful psychedelic feel. Harmony, rhythm and meter make the vocals distinct from the bands pounding and technical groove. Along with these talented musicians, The power of Jess Chizuk's vocalization compliments Beau’s fresh and intricate rap style leaving the listener captivated behind meaningful lyrics that are relatable to anyone today.

      The group’s musical style consists primarily of Rock as well as elements from other genres such as Blues, Funk and Trip-hop. They embrace and intertwine different genres to create a unique style that unifies musical experimentation taking influence from Progressive, Alternative, and Funky-Psychedelic Rock groups such as The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Incubus, Pink Floyd, and Led Zeppelin. They also reach back to the soulful start of Rock ‘n Roll with influences like Ray Charles and Tom Waits.

     The band also successfully runs and manages its own stage crew, film crew and lighting. Child of Folly has jus recently finished recording a 7 track EP with GCR Audio.  By combining a viable musical product with live show experience and appealing merchandise Child of Folly hope to make an impact on the Summer Festival Concerts and local venues of similar style and interest in the Great Lakes and East Coast Regions.
