Chasing Opal is a high energy all acoustic indie folk duo based out of Wilmington, NC. This husband and wife duo believe in living in the moment, taking nothing for granted and living each day as if it were their last.
Performing each set with this same attitude, Whitney Blayne and Steven Ray believe that music is special. Music means more to them than just lyrics, chords or melodies on a page. They believe that music is a feeling. That music is what feelings sound like.
The duo gained their love for music in some of the darkest times of their lives. At young ages they found a passion for what the power of music means to them individually. Together Whitney and Steven are able to express that passion by sharing their music with others.
Chasing Opal encourages audience participation with their witty charm in hopes that each time they take the stage their performance creates a setting where people are able to take something from the experience.
