Bio
I was born in the 80's in Norfolk, Virginia and was raised in the Bronx, New York in the 90's. Primetime for Hip-Hop and I'm the kid that's always outside. My grandmother and father use to collect vinyl records and had hundreds of them. The music I was first introduced to in my home was soul music from artists like Al Green, Aretha Franklin and groups like the Temptations and the Commodores. Once the 90's started and I was able to stay outside until the street lights came on the music started coming from all directions. Latin music from the bodegas, Candy Rain by So for Real is one of my favorites but Hip-Hop and Rap I gravitated to the lyrics of songs like Slam by Onyx, Juicy by Biggie and I get around by 2Pac.
I started to find myself recording videos like Mo Money Mo Problems by Bad Boys and writing down the lyrics to the whole song. By time I was 11-12yrs old I was rapping outside with friends and have been rapping every since. Majority of the music made is as a solo artist who like to do features with other artists. I learn from being around other musicians, producers and everyone has their own unique style, so I'm able to adapt quickly with any style needed at the moment. A couple highlights was going to open mic nights as a teenager performing in front of maybe 20-30 people. A radio station in Virginia called 103 Jamz use to have a one on one freestyle battle on certain nights of the week and at the age of 21 I gave it a try and won against two others that day by people calling in and voting for me. You have to win seven weeks in a row to get some type of deal and sadly the next week I went to Iraq in the Army. I also performed in front of 100+ people while serving in Iraq keeping the moral up for the soldiers. I'm looking to produce and start my own label. R&B, Hip-Hop, Pop and Soul if I'm using lyrics but can make an instrumental or write a song for any genre even Rock-n-Roll and Country.
I'm still in the Tri-state area with a home studio using programs like Pro-tools and Logic Pro. Currently going to school for a Bachelors in Music at Bridgeport University. I want to train the next set of engineers for our future.
