Canine

Canine is a Psychedelic Rock and Grunge band from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Founded in 2014 by Danny Padial (Guitar) and Hayden Chauvin (Drums), we have been writing music and playing shows in Baton Rouge alongside different musicians who share our core values. We believe in improvisation, taking much inspiration from the Jazz and Blues greats who we have gotten to see in our own hometown, and our music showcases our ideas and emotions in the melodies, rhythms, and jam breaks. We take inspiration from everything we hear, but each member has his own preferences. Danny (Guitar) grew up listening to 90's Grunge music in his bedroom and shredding along to it on his Epiphany Special II running through an old karaoke machine, but he eventually became much more philosophical with his tastes and began listening to other music that highlighted human emotions like Blues, Soul, Hip Hop, and Jazz, as well as genres that revolve around human creativity like Electronic and Progressive Rock. Hayden (Drums) had a similar transition through adolescence, going from the radio-rock hits to the more intellectual Hip Hop and Jazz Fusion sales, focusing on the rhythms and grooves of music meant to make people move. Andrew (Guitar, Keys) has a wide variety of tastes and, similar to Danny, he enjoys music that highlights emotion and creativity, but he goes deeper into the rabbit hole and makes sounds that take your mind to places unknown where down is up and yes is no. Our newest member, Easton (Bass), has an ear for progressive music and is always looking for bands who are pushing the envelope for what constitutes a badass tune. He's the one who will probably get us all listening to math rock one day. 
Together we play some funky fresh jams. Danny is the main composer and songwriter, but the music is fluid enough to allow improvisation and on-the-spot substitutions because that is what's fun to us. From our bedrooms to the stage, we have been perfecting our art for most of our lives, and we can't wait to share it with you.
