There is no sweeter harmony than that between and father and son. Both accomplished musicians, Ken and Kyle Campbell bring together their talents to create an infectious noise that can only be accomplished through the unspoken bonds of family.
Achieving success in their first few years, including performances at the Cherry Blossom Festival, Kutztown Folk Festival and Musikfest in Bethlehem PA, Campbell and Son released their third EP, Country Blood, on October 10th, 2022. Their song, America (You’re Breaking My Heart), won the weekly at-home prize as part of the John Lennon Songwriting Competition.
Although Campbell and Son formerly came together as a band in 2018, Ken and Kyle have been making music together for over 40 years. Whether it was Ken teaching Kyle to play guitar, or sitting around a campfire with their family and singing songs, music has been the cornerstone of their relationship.
On their latest EP, Country Blood, the band explores the many ways the human experience can be colored by outside forces – both good and bad. Recorded over a long weekend at Soundmine Studios, famous for working with such bands as Ghost and Avenge Sevenfold, Country Blood features a return to the full band sound of their first EP. The result is five well-crafted, deeply meaningful songs that highlight the interplay between Ken and Kyle’s voices and guitars.
