Bio
Cale Charney is an American singer/songwriter born and raised in Northeastern Pennsylvania and is currently based in Knoxville, Tennessee. He began playing guitar at 24 years old, initially drawing inspiration from such artists as Tom Petty, Bob Seger, and John Mayer. His songwriting style ranges from folk to country to soul, and he has been described as a visceral storyteller.
In March 2020, an acoustic live performance of Charney’s song “Stranded” was featured on Studio Road TV in Lake Worth, Florida.
Charney’s debut album Find a Way was released in July 2021. Produced by Brian J. Anthony, the album features the aforementioned “Stranded” and seven other tracks that Charney describes as “a sentimental journey and collection of experiences.”
Recorded during the Covid-19 pandemic, Charney stated that the album’s title track was written as a mantra of hope and perseverance amidst bleak circumstances. “It also pays homage to the way I grew up,” he added.
In August 2021, Charney was selected to perform at the Gatlinburg Songwriters Festival in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Later that year, he played to a national television audience and over 120,000 attendees at the Gatlinburg Festival of Lights Christmas Parade.
Cale is currently working on his second album, set to release in 2022.
