“Tons of personality. Legg’s lyrics threaten to outstrip the songs themselves. Somewhere, in there—somewhere in Legg’s mind, possibly—is the genesis of true original, world-beating grandear…a dirty angel, certainly. But a muse, nonetheless. –OffBeat Magazine

You’ll have to go to the edges of the swamps of Louisiana to find undiscovered stuff this good.—Sleazegrinder.com - Sleazegrinder.com
“Southern psychedelic folk. A soundtrack for down on the Delta hippie voodoo jam rituals. Songs full of beauty, sadness, ethereal regrets, and haunting imagery, sung with resonant soul and passion.—Tangerine Magazine (US) - Tangerine Magazine (out of print)
“Fantastic, dripping with mystery, emotion, pain, and salvation. Elements of Cajun folk, hard rock, delta blues, Indian ragas, and outlaw country…along the classic singer/songwriter vibe…all boiled into one cohesive whole.

“Songs so hauntingly beautiful and powerfully deep, I cannot recommend this highly enough. Deep South acoustic mysticism that is played like a work of art. Make no mistake, this guy is a genius.—Perkleit (Italy)

"Swampy, psychedelic, gritty, sweet and so sexy. 'Last Man Out of Babylon.' Amazing lyrics and great vocals combine to create an acoustic beauty in a singer songwriter piece with ethereal effects swirling in the background. This voice will drag you right in. Singer Dege Legg is right up there with the best of them. No exaggeration." - Stonerrockchick.com
"Gooey bottleneck slide guitars...like Robert Johnson on Thorazine. Hypnotic ambience that snuggles around a singer/songwriter vibe...that explodes into God-Speed-You-Black-Emperor-like crescendos. Incredible." Michael Toland - High Bias Music Zine

Bio
Like the mad lovechild of Robert Johnson and Jim Morrison, BROTHER DEGE (aka DEGE LEGG, the Cajun-born and Louisiana-raised leader of the rock band Santeria), has just released his highly anticipated slide/Dobro record Folk Songs Of The American Longhair, produced by 4x Grammy-winner Tony Daigle (Dr. John, Sonny Landreth, Gatemouth Brown, Bobby Charles), Legg and Primo (also from Santeria). This is Delta Blues for the 21st Century, raging out of the swamplands of Louisiana. Dripping with atmosphere and backwoods noir. The real deal death-obsessed, god-fearing, foot stomping acoustic blues steeped in the devilish myths and haunted ambiance that permeates every inch of Louisiana. Factor in some Historic long-haired rock & roll influences from Sabbath to Black Flag and you've got an art project and anthropological study wrapped in one time traveling package.
