"Best Pop Song 2017"

'Every once in a while a song comes along that revives that 'feel-good' atmosphere we seemingly abandoned for darker fare with the new millennium; 'You Are Worth Dying For' is irresistible!' - The Akademia Music Awards

"Exposed Vocals just caught an exclusive interview with ‘Brielle’"

Billboard Charting and MTV Hits, America’s Pop Sensation singer songwriter BRIELLE® who performed the National Anthem at Citi Field for the NY Mets and for the NCAA National Basketball Championship at Madison Square Garden, released her debut 10-song self-titled LP BRIELLE in June, 2016. The LP features several unreleased songs planned for release over the next several months including “Love Means”, “Wasted”, “Unstoppable”, and OUGHT TO BE to name a few.
Her 4th consecutive single ROCK THE CATWALK was recently released in July for NY Fashion Week. The song is a pop remake of the 1980’s smash, “Rock The Casbah” by the Clash. Both the song and video combine her love of music and fashion as she sports the classic outfits of the very designers she sings about.
Her 3rd release ROCKET released in April of 2015, a high-octane patriotic anthem, produced by Grammy Producer Ken Lewis, debuted on Billboards Hot Singles Sales at #15 and within one week climbed over Madonna to #8 on June 1st, 2015. And on April 28th, 2016 “ROCKET” won Honorable Mention in the 2015 International Songwriting Competition in both the Top 40/Pop and Unsigned Only categories. It’s video, also nominated in the ISC 2015, produced and directed by Annette Navarro, is a party that morphs into an “Alice-In-Wonderland” moment, featuring the bunny mad hatter that awakens to the reality of a “so what just did happened last night? Coffee induced coma”.
Released July 2014, her debut single “AVALANCHE” produced by Grammy Producer Femdouble (Tupac, T-Pain, E-40, TQ) and co-produced by Pete Ivory, peaked at #4 on - Exposed Vocals

"Brielle: You Are Worth Dying For, Stranger, Playing With Danger Single Reviews"

All the way from New York City is the one and only Brielle. I fell in love with this pop princess the moment I listened to the impeccable single Ought To Be. From that moment I was hooked and researched her even more. Now Brielle is a talented singer/ songwriter who has a host of original material under her belt. The tunes currently out there are Rocket, Rock The Catwalk, Avalanche, Catch A Star For You and Thin Ice.
Last June saw the release of debut LP Brielle on AGP Records and this consisted of 10 sizzling tracks. Brielle does really know how to write infectious pop jams. I must say this album was my personal highlight of 2016.
Aside from that Brielle dropped a quartet of sizzling songs last month and these being You Are Worth Dying For, Stranger, Who’d Have Known and Playing With Danger. These four tunes literally captivated me and I cannot wait to see what 2017 has in store for her.
You Are Worth Dying For: Now this tantalising tune came out towards the end of 2016 and this showcased Brielle’s breathtaking vocals. Oozing plenty of synth goodness, You Are Worth Dying For is yet another slice of pure perfection. Brielle’s vocal tones were sugary sweet and those insatiable lyrics were tinged with plenty of sadness “You Are Worth Dying For/ It’s what I’ve been waiting for/ They say it’s impossible/ But you make it worth it all”. They had me picturing a couple whom are so in love, the guy is then fighting for his life “Are you still with me/ I need to look in your eyes/ Are you still breathing/ All I need is a sign” which then results in the girl saying You Are Worth Dying For. All in all this was a sparkling song which had me hooked from the word go. - Music Is My Radar

"EDM Pop Star BRIELLE Releases Her First Album"

BRIELLE is a new pop star sensation and fashion entrepreneur. Not only is she a talented singer and song writer who just dropped her first self-entitled LP BRIELLE, her music has a positive and uplifting appeal. Vocally she is an artist that sings about a variety of topics including love, pride and fashion. Taking the time to speak with the Hype magazine, BRIELLE lets us in on her business prospects and tells a bit about how it all came together.

“When I make music, my senses get all tangled. I see things or I have different smells that come to me. It goes hand and hand with creating designs and gives me an audio and visual medium”

— BRIELLE

Paving her way through the industry with catchy Billboard and MTV hits, her charm is as sentimental. Not only is BRIELLE in the spot light as a musician but she is also a designer in the fashion world. She wears the outfits of different designers throughout her videos and rocks her own brand as well. Nothing illustrates this more than her single “Rock The Catwalk” which was released for New York Fashion Week. She is also a staff writer for Fashion United and features a column about her music, college life and life in New York City.

Co-written by BRIELLE her LP is produced by Grammy producer Femdouble and Ken Lewis along with Kim Moeller, Andrew Underberg, Pete Ivory, Gian Bravo, and more. It features a variety of great dance tunes and collaborations, such as Free da’ Dreamer. If you haven’t heard of BRIELLE, make sure to check out this amazing new star on the rise.

You have a new self-entitled album! What can you tell me about it?

Well it is about five years in the making! I started writing music when I was 14 and I’ve been wanting to put out this album for some time. After five years of working, I’ve written over 100 to 200 songs! I narrowed it down to ten songs this time and finally put it out. So, my first piece of work is out there and I love it so much.

What can you tell me about your single “Ought to Be”?

I was with Free da’ Dreamer on “Ought to Be.” He’s a little different for me! He presented me with a beat and I loved it so much! It took me about a week to write and it came together nicely. I love the video! It was directed by Annette Navarro and was exactly my vision of the whole vibe of the song. It’s fun and it’s about letting go and having a good time.

When investigating your song “Rock The Catwalk,” I discovered that you are a fashion entrepreneur.

Yeah! I attended the Fashion Institute of Technology. I’ve always loved fashion! When I make music, my senses get all tangled. I see things or I have different smells that come to me. It goes hand and hand with creating designs and gives me an audio and visual medium! So, I’ve always had that side to me. I started working with Colin King, who is a crown designer. He designed all the clothes that I wore in my first video “Catch A Star For You.” He is the reason why my crown is on my logo. I have a little collection of his crowns.

What is different between this album and some of the other recordings you have put out?

This album incorporates some of the previous singles I’ve released. I think the songs are part of a cohesive theme. They were all positive songs that you can dance to. I have a lot of practice song writing. I write about a lot of various topics, but for my first album, I decided to go with more of the dance path that is more radio friendly. I’m working on a lot of music now that is a little darker. The songs are still pop EDM but I dove a little deeper.

If there is anything out there that you want your fans to know about your music, what would that be?

I hope to see everybody at my upcoming shows. During my past holiday performance, I went all out. I had a 15 percent discount off the ticket purchase with a promo code and I hope to see everyone at my shows in the future. - David Morales of Hype Magazine

"My Top 10 Debut Albums Of 2016 (#05-#01) (Part 2)"

01) Brielle – Brielle
17th June saw the release of this extraordinary album on AGP Records. Brielle is a pop princess in the making, plus she’s released a handful of singles which have been taken from this LP. Brielle comes all the way from New York City, as well as singing she also writes her own material.
I first became aware of this bubbly blonde way back in April after having been hooked on the single Ought To Be. I then tracked back and listened to her earlier singles which literally blew me away. I would compare Brielle to Ke$ha. The reason why this is my favourite offering of 2016 is mainly down to the fact this synth pop driven record is so contagious. Basically this is a sheer masterpiece and it left me with a warm joyous feeling deep inside - My Music Radar

"BRIELLE “OUGHT TO BE” OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO"

I have to admit….I like Pop Music. There. I said it. I like Pop music and I don’t care who knows it. Some of it is just so damn catchy and it gets stuck in my head for days and I find myself singing it under my breath while I’m in the shower, walking the dogs, washing the dishes or whatever.

Billboard’s resident chart topper pop artist Brielle is no different. She’s got a new video out for her single “Ought To Be” and let me just tell you, this song has been stuck in my head for days. But in a way, she IS different. She’s different from other pop stars. She actually PLAYS music. I know I know, what are the odds that a pop artist in 2016 actually plays music?? The horror. But for real, not only is she an actual musician, she plays the violin, of all instruments!! AND she WRITES all of her own music, a feat not often attempted by many of today’s pop artists (I’m look at YOU Selena, Beiber and yes, even you Queen Bey. Lemonade is credited with a whopping 72 writers. What?). Brielle has been singing her whole life, was in her first musical at 4 years old and had her record deal at 15.

Besides her musical talent, her expertise extends to the world of fashion design, as she also attended, the Fashion Institute of Technology. She has performed the National Anthem at Citi Field for The Mets and at Madison Square Garden for the NCAA National Basketball Championship. She has made the Billboard charts several times, and spent 26 weeks on various charts including MTV and VH1.

She is smart, talented and beautiful, possessing the whole package and is ready to to take over the world. And whether you like pop music or not, she’s taking you with her. - Black Framed Glasses

"Brielle "Ought To Be""

Brand new pop recording star, songwriter, dancer and violinist Brielle has unleash her newest video “Ought to Be” from her debut self-titled album, which she is about to release. Besides her musical talent, her expertise extends to the world of fashion design, as she also attended, the Fashion Institute of Technology.

Brielle has performed the National Anthem at Citi Field for The Mets and at Madison Square Garden for the NCAA National Basketball Championship. She has made the Billboard charts several times, and spent 26 weeks on various charts including MTV and VH1.

"Introducing Brielle"

Hailing from New York City is Brielle and other than being a talented singer she also writes killer pop songs. If pop is your thing then you will love this artist, I’ve heard a number of Brielle tunes and I was amazed by how entrancing they actually were.

At the age of 16 Brielle licensed 6 of her self-written songs to the MTV reality show “Snooki & JWoww” and shortly after her first self-written unreleased song Unstoppale was nominated in the 12th annual Independent Music Awards. Also she sang the National Anthem at the Skate and Gymnastics Spectacular in 2012 on NBC and in April of 2015 she sang it at Madison Square Garden for the 2015 NIT NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship Game on ESPN and Citi Field for the NY Mets on July 1st, 2015.

Catch A Star For You: Released independently in October 2013, I found this to be a captivating cut. I have to say this tune was truly impeccable as it was a mixture of dance and pop. I can actually see similarities with Calvin Harris. Catch A Star For You had been perfectly written as the lyrics well and truly had me hooked. “Come and set me free/ Illuminate my world/ And just save it/ I can touch the sky/ And Catch A Star For You/ Open up the dream/ Imagine all the life can be/ After I touch the sky/ And Catch A Star For You”. Anyhow Catch A Star For You is a startling tune and the actual music video completely had me mesmerised.Avalanche: We then move to July 2014. Avalanche served as Brielle’s debut single on AGP Records and just like Catch A Star For You it was a complete cracker. This was produced by Grammy Producer Femdouble (Tupac, T-Pain, E-40, TQ) and co-produced by Pete Ivory, Avalanche peaked at #4 on Billboards Hot Singles Sales and spent 8 consecutive weeks in the Top 10 of the chart. The music video was directed by Clifton Bell (Trey Songz, NE-YO, T-Pain, J.Cole).

Regarding this tune, Avalanche was a perfect piece of songwriting. Whenever there is a narrative where you can picture the story makes a good song for me. Now Avalanche oozed plenty of pop vibes which revolves around a relationship which has both positives and negatives. The decision whether to fight for the relationship or whether if it’s better to part. The fast paced verses were hypnotic but my favourite part had to be the powerful thumping chorus “One move be still/ Though it all falls downhill/ Avalanche avalanche avalanche”.Thin Ice: I find this tune to be rather promising. Thin Ice was a splendid feisty pop song which was complete perfection. It was a high octane rollercoaster ride with delectable lyrics which gave it that anthem feel.Rocket: Everything about this was absolutely splendid. Rocket had been well crafted plus it was an upbeat jam with compelling lyrics which grabbed my attention. Brielle’s vocal delivery was extremely sweet making this feel like a patriotic anthem.

Both the video and the song recently were nominated into the semi-finals of the 2015 International Song Writing Competition in 3 categories.Rock The Catwalk: This was a dance-pop re-make of the 1980’s Rock The Casbah by The Clash. I have to say this was sheer brilliance I liked the way it had been re written with lyrics which were very punchy.Ought To Be: Released on 9th March Ought To Be is the latest release by Brielle and it is a right fire cracker. This was a slick pop jam along with lyrics that I fell for hook, line and sinker. Actually I found it to be rather upbeat with memorable lyrics and the vocal delivery was smooth like honey. “This is how it Oughta To Be/ How it Oughta Be/ Rhythms matching heartbeats/ Flow vibrations in sync/ This is how it Oughta To Be/ How it Oughta Be”.

The music video takes place at a house party plus the bunnies from the Rocket video make an appearence. Finally Brielle’s music has only been in my life for about a month but based on what I have heard she is an electro pop Princess who has a number of delectable songs underneath her belt. The songwriting skills are literally impeccable and I’m literally in love with the likes of Rocket, Rock The Catwalk and Avalanche.

This Spring will see the release of Brielle’s debut self titled LP which will feature 10 gorgeous songs. The LP will feature several never released songs including such as “Love Means”, “Wasted” and “Unstoppable” to name a few. This release is definitely one I’ll be looking out for. - MusicIsMyRadar2015 by Mr C

"Music Video Review: BRIELLE - "Ought To Be" (Official Music Video)"

I really don't make it a habit to write about music videos. This is officially only my second Music Video Review in the time that I've been doing this and even though every time I feel all like "Let me watch these videos and write about them!" I never really do. The things just never get off the ground for some reason. But now, while watching BRIELLE's "Ought To Be", I've found out why.

You cannot put links to music videos in files marked "to review eventually". A music video, as was once on Mtv, is meant to immediately grab you and draw you in. Have you ever heard a song on the radio and thought, "I'm not sure how I feel about this, but I'll go back later and give it a good listen so I can form an opinion"? Of course not. Songs on the radio are songs you will either strongly like or strongly dislike and that is why they are on the radio. Music videos should be the same way.

Right away this feels like the party you want to be at. I've watched this twenty times over just because she mentions gypsies (And yes, that is a good way to get me to listen to your music/watch your music video/paint your shed/whatever) and then I found the lyric version of it so I could actually see the word come up on the screen. But the first time I watched this video, that thought of "Did she just say 'gypsies' there?"... It's something you can't fake.

"Ought To Be" is this faster paced pop rock song (or is it rock pop?) that has a Kimbra feel to it combined with artists I don't recall by name because I don't like them (I'm looking at you, Ms. I Sing The Theme To Orange Is The New Black) It just works in all the right ways and none of the things that I like about those other artists comes out. Like I said: this video makes you see that this is the party you want to be at and, yes, even if I heard this song on the radio or was sent a SoundCloud link to it, I'd still be as excited about it.

The visual of the party vibe also makes me think of the Smashing Pumpkins video for "1979" but also since it features BRIELLE singing her song it makes me happy that it's in a realistic setting. It's not a live performance, per se, but it does just feel like she got together with a bunch of her friends (Some of who wear bunny heads and that's cool) and, yes, I am still that innocent and naive about music that I believe that this is what musicians really do. (If rappers don't get together and freestyle while listening to music in front of only their friends I don't want to know about it)

While there are a lot of reasons why someone would click a link in an email and open a music video, then watch/listen to it for me it simply came down to the attached press photo, which I have included below to convey my point. In this photo, I like the way that BRIELLE is dressed. She has a modern Cyndi Lauper thing going on for her. I don't know how her music will sound, but based upon this, I take a chance and click a link. I've taken this chance before. I've clicked many links. I'm just happy that this time it brought me to such a wonderful video and I do look forward to listening to so much of BRIELLE's music for a long time to come. - Raised By Gypsies by Joshua Macala

"Brielle-Rock The Catwalk"

Brielle – ‘Rock The Catwalk’

Electro-pop princess Brielle stalks with sharp attitude through ‘Rock The Catwalk’, both vocally on the song and visually in the accompanying video. ‘Rock The Catwalk’ is a clever and fun remake of the classic ‘Rock The Casbah’ by The Clash. Who would have thought that a gritty, albeit catchy eco-politico-messaged rock tune from the 1980s could be revamped in glam fashion into a house-styled, electro-pop hit? Brielle name-drops designers like Chanel, Lagerfeld, Gucci, Posen, and more, declaring defiantly “There’s a new It Girl / What they gonna do?” amid an upbeat clacking rhythm and shimmering synth notes. As ebullient electro-notes drop, Brielle gives her definitive answer - to “Rock the beat and hit the spotlight.” while she struts her stuff down the catwalk. In the video, Brielle gets to play dress-up, donning glitzy duds that are alternately timelessly retro and fashion-forward. The artificial catwalk changes to a desert landscape near the end of the vid, with Brielle still exuding attitude, but acting more natural than her model poses on stage. - Jen Dan

"Finding Her Way"

NEW YORK - For Brielle Edborg, the journey from Jamestown to New York City has taken more than a few hours' southeasterly drive.

Over the past three years, the Jamestown native has been slowly climbing the social ladder from high school graduate to fashion school student to up-and-coming pop-singing sensation - all the while making one monumental achievement after another, all by the age of 20.

Brielle, who has adopted her first name as her stage name, has received an unprecedented amount of recognition in recent months in the areas of live performance, as well as on the U.S. music charts. Having released a series of singles dating back to 2012, the two most recent - "Avalanche," released July 2014, and "Rocket," released in April - have breached the top 15 on the Billboard Hot Single Sales rankings, and gave strong showings in that capacity. - Post-Journal by Gavin Paterniti

"Want Your Love: Brielle Provides a Chill-Inducing Summer Anthem"

“I must admit it’s gone / I know that I should run / but I want your love.” Brielle puts it all out there on “Want Your Love.”
Rising talent Brielle is a bright new face in the pop music scene. The fashionable singer songwriter hit the scene with her debut single in 2014, and since then she has been working on finessing her image and sound. With production from the Grammy Award Winning Commissioner Gordon, Charlie Grey, and Free Da’ Dreamer, Brielle is back with her newest single, “Want Your Love.”
On the R&B infused track Brielle sings to a lover who doesn’t know what he wants; one day he wants to stay together, the next he’s on the fence. “I’m done playing guessing games” Brielle declares on the track, but our siren reveals a little more of her heart on the track. She may want to play the strong character, but she gets a little more vulnerable on the chorus, where she reveals that she wants to stay with her flame.
The track’s frenzied production picks up as Brielle makes one last bid for love on the chorus over a cacophony of chilly synth and stuttering electronic production. It’s almost as though the beat resembles Brielle’s heartbeat as she puts it all on the line for her lover. If that’s the case, home girl is more than a little nervous about the result of her ultimatum. Either way, our lovable chanteuse has a huge hit on her hands! - Days With Destiny

"#TELLAFRIEND ARTIST OF THE WEEK: BRIELLE – “AVALANCHE” [MUSIC VIDEO PREMIERE]"

She started with six of her songs on MTV’s “Snooki&JWoww” to her self-written track, “UNSTOPPABLE” being nominated in the 12th annual IMA’s. Today, she prepares to release her debut LP, Ready For War – meet this week’s #TELLAFRIEND Artist of the Week, Brielle!

From music to fashion, she’s been putting in work. Last October 2013, Brielle released her first video, “Catch A Star For You,” which quickly surpassed half-a-million views on YouTube. This caught the attention of many including Macy’s, Journey’s, and American Eagle store who included the video on “The Screen Play” video pool. Shortly after, the song was nominated in the 2013 UP World Song Competition in the Top 40 Pop categories.

Fashion is also something very close to Brielle. With her own pop culture column on Fashion United, Brielle writes about everything young in New York; her music, college life and of course her fashion. During this year’s Fashion Week in New York, not only did Brielle perform, but she also walked the runways! That same month, she graced the cover of Music Now Magazine.

Often compared to a modern Jennifer Lopez and Britney Spears with her own twist, Brielle prepares to release her debut album in April 2015. Today, she premieres her visuals to “Avalanche,” directed by Clifton Bell. Brielle describes the video to her FEMDOUBLE and Pete Ivory-produced track as, “‘Avalanche’ represents the point in a failing relationship where both sides recognize that it isn’t going to work out with drama that spells out through the video, the suspense in that moment of what has gone wrong in a relationship.”

With that being said, don’t sleep and get familiar with our #TELLAFRIEND Artist of the Week, Brielle!

"BRIELLE's February Fashion United COLUMN - Perspective of the Creator"

Why is it that the worst and most difficult times of our lives occur either when we are stuck in a rut or when everything we once thought we knew has been changed forever? We question who exactly we thought we were; and then suddenly, the mindset we have become so accustomed to having goes up into theoretical flames. Honestly, it almost seems like the whole universe comes crashing down and we are the primary target. Sound familiar?

The complete whirlwind of the “worst” times of our lives more often than not turn out to be the most important growing and learning stages we encounter. The growing pains are unfortunately imperative to the process, but personally, I almost love the stinging sensation it gives me and I know that I will become incomparably stronger and more wise as a result. I imagine the tiny fibers in my brain wincing in agony as they slowly tear apart to only heal back together more durable than ever. There is an indefinite truth in the saying: “change is good”.

Nothing good can come from doing nothing...
As we mature, we naturally adapt to the temperamental balance between stagnant, almost dependent, living and unstably chaotic cyclical vicissitude. The most temperamental part of every growing pain is good old father time. I guess time management really is everything. The time it takes to heal from a breakup, the time it takes to master a technique, the time it takes to learn that magic fairies will not come and clean your dishes at night for you (you actually have to buy soap and wash them yourself), etcetera. Nothing good can come from doing nothing, but nothing good can come from doing everything either. We are inexperienced acrobats stumbling across a tightrope with no protective cushioning to buffer our fall, and we are praying that we get to the other side alive. This is real life.

Perspective is also a huge factor to our adaptation and growing process. Have you ever been with someone where time seems to literally disappear because you get along with him or her so well that time really has no purpose of existing? They are funny things, our minds. We are able to twist time into a sort of puzzle piece that fits together with our twisted and sometimes mangled puzzles of brains so that we can adapt to situations, or force situations to adapt to us, through which we allow ourselves to keep whatever it is that we consider sanity.

The world around us IS art!
And here is where art comes in. How we perceive situations that arise in our lives completely affects how we perceive the world around us. The world around us IS art! Everything is created in some way, and as artists, we are fortunate enough to contain the ability inside our souls to decide what we want to create, what we want to perceive, and how we want to perceive it. Like snowflakes and fingerprints, every single person on this earth is unique. But we have something in common that snowflakes do not. We all innately desire to maintain that which makes us unique: our own individualities.

Think about this, if every person’s individuality is a result of his own perception, and every person’s perception is his own solution, then could the solution to the most difficult trials of our lives be to morph into ourselves? Into who we are created to be? Into creators? I think so.

Love, Brielle

At some point in your life, an undeniable passion grasps ahold of your soul and directs you toward whatever your fate may be. Every person is created differently and is born with a different fate; Miley Cyrus apparently was put on this Earth to make twerking and tongue-wagging famous and Zac Posen was created to pleat and drape until the mouth of every woman drops in admiration. My passion, creating art both musically and aesthetically, has been clinging to my heart for as long as I can remember and is what I believe I am meant to do. There was not a specific "eureka" moment of realization of my life's passion, I have just always loved music and fashion.

My juniorCOLUMN - Find your life's passion and pursue your dreams year of high school, when I started planning and thinking about my future, I freaked out a little bit. I had been touring various colleges that provided for every type of major, but I could not picture myself studying at any of them. I figured out quickly that I was not meant to be a doctor, lawyer, or any other profession that all parents dream of for their children- due to my sudden sickness at the sight of blood and my strong loathing to argue about any disagreement; although I am very good at it, and I was left unsure of who I was supposed to be. Societal expectations were not mixing well with my heart's true desires and I eventually chose to ignore society's pleas. Following my heart, I knew that I wanted to continue pursuing music- I had already been signed to AGP Records as a writer and a recording artist for about six months, but I also had this strong desire to incorporate the love I have always had for the craft of fashion design into my career. I was not entirely sure how to do so.

“FIT was the perfect fit for me”
Then, miraculously, I read the Teen Vogue Handbook and The Fashion Designer Survival Guide. After reading both incredibly informative "sacred texts", how I choose to refer to those life-saving books, in which the Fashion Institute of Technology is sufficiently discussed and praised, studying fashion design, specifically at FIT, suddenly became a very enticing option for furthering my education. It clicked: music and fashion.

With my mind completely set on going to school for fashion, I toured the FIT campus March of 2013 and something about it simply, and finally, felt right. I could actually see myself living there: attending classes, joining clubs, studying in my dorm, designing, learning about the business, and actually having interests and talents in common with other students- something I have struggled with my entire life because of growing up in a small town that did not bestow many outlets through which I could express my designing capabilities or my creativity. I had read in some book or advice column that students "just know" when a college is right for them in the same way that someone "just knows" when he or she meets the person with whom he or she is destined to marry and love forever. Whoever wrote that spoke the truth; I "just knew" that FIT was the perfect fit for me, no pun intended. - Fashion United

"BRIELLE'S "UNSTOPPABLE" Nominated for Independent Music Awards"

A dance-pop artist is emerging from Jamestown, and she might just be unstoppable.

Brielle, a Jamestown High School student who began her musical career with the release of a self-titled EP last year, has been nominated for the 12th annual Independent Music Awards. The nomination is for her original song, "Unstoppable," which is up for an award in the pop song category.

According to Brielle, the announcement came as a huge surprise, one that helped solidify her decision to continue pursuing a career in entertainment.

"I wasn't expecting it this early in my career, but it was awesome," said Brielle. "Because I'm so versatile, we've been experimenting with so many types of music, and we have just figured out that dance-pop is my thing. So, (the nomination) was confirmation that yeah, this is what I should be doing."

The winners of the awards will be determined by a panel of more than 35 influential artists and industry judges, some of which Brielle is a fan, she said. One in particular she was excited about was Ziggy Marley. The winners will be announced in May.

"It's cool, but I've never been judged before - so I don't know what to expect," said Brielle. "But, I feel totally blessed that I was able to get the song nominated."

Tim Edborg, Brielle's father and founder of AGP Records, was also surprised by the announcement, and is incredibly proud of his daughter for her achievements.

"It's cool. It feels great to be around it and it's exciting, but it's also a lot of work," said Edborg.

According to the program's official website, www.independentmusicawards.com, the IMAs deliver yearlong marketing and sales support as well as performance and licensing opportunities that place winners and nominees in front of 1 billion music fans.

A download of "Unstoppable" is available for free or donation at www.brielle1.bandcamp.com. After giving the song a listen, those interested can cast their vote for the fan-selected winners at www.independentmusicawards.com/ima/vox-pop. The fan-selected winners will be announced on Friday, July 19.

"You log on, and then you vote for me - please," said Brielle. "I've put a lot of hard work into the song, and I believe in the music. I feel that 'Unstoppable' can relate to a lot of people, especially teenagers, and it's a great summer party song."

Brielle is currently working on recording a full-length album in New York City, of which eight fully produced songs are ready for release. According to Edborg, major label distribution has been secured for the release. One of the new songs is entitled "Catch A Star For You," and can be streamed via www.sonicbids.com/brielle2. A worldwide distribution release of the album's single will be released before she starts performing live. But, in the meantime, Brielle's six-song self-titled EP is available on iTunes for purchase.

In addition to her musical aspirations, Brielle is a 17-year-old senior at JHS who competes on the track team as a high-jumper, is on the dance team and plays violin in the orchestra. Brielle's violin skills can be heard on her rendition of "Who'd Have Known," which was originally written by Lily Allen.

"SONG OF THE DAY (SUNDAY FUNDAY): Brielle – “Catch a Star For You”"

Dancey europop always works for Sunday Funday. The best way to describe Brielle is probably as a Scandinavian cross between Inna and Alexandra Stan. The slow to fast intro pulls you in (and would sound great on the radio) with Brielle’s polished pop voice singing like a 2013 take of Fragma. The production sounds like a poppier version of a Calvin Harris with an insanely polished sugary feel. The vocal chants and hooks are so catchy that you can’t help but sing-along by the time the second chorus comes in. For a Sunday Funday singalong pop song, you can’t do much better than “Catch a Star For You.” - notabledance.com

"Acclaimed Recording Artist Brielle to Perform in Jamestown"

July 23, 2012 By Walt Pickut
JAMESTOWN – Brielle is an artist. That’s not a job title. Art is the name for something that comes from the soul and can’t be held back. Lady Gaga told a reporter, “A record deal doesn’t make you an artist; you make yourself an artist.” The record deals come naturally after that.

“I think I was born singing,” Brielle explained to a fan recently. “I could sing whole songs before I could talk.” Brielle’s passion for music places her in good company. “True art is characterized by an irresistible urge in the creative artist,” according to one of the world’s most creative minds, Albert Einstein, who was also a highly accomplished classical violinist. Brielle is a recording artist, singer/song writer, electric and acoustic violinist with AGP Records.

Brielle is a rising POP star in the musical world, currently on tour with a live show slated locally for Saturday night at 8:00 at The Spire Theater in downtown Jamestown.

A native of Jamestown, New York, Brielle’s success has taught her truths she hopes to share with other aspiring young artists. “If you love it, work at it. Never give up. Everything meant to happen will happen if you don’t quit. It is a truth.” Determination and a passion for the art are the keys to success. “I write music every day,” Brielle explained. “I look for a mood and a tone that tell me a story, it’s like creating a movie where I can write the lyrics to go with it.”

As a role model Brielle’s message is simple. “Kids should know they can be good enough to be themselves. They don’t have to try to be anybody else.”

“My mom, Lianne, always sang to me,” Brielle recalled fondly, “and my dad was a musician, the first drummer with The 10,000 Maniacs, Tim Edborg. So I lived with music in my home. I wrote my very first song when I woke up in the middle of the night hearing it in my head. I recorded it right away on my cell phone!”

Brielle’s most recent digital album, “Brielle,” is now available for download at her website, http://brielle1.bandcamp.com/. “One Guitar,” an anti-war, pro-soldier song about replacing a gun with a guitar, is available as a separate download. All proceeds from the song will benefit Invisible Children, an international group of advocates for young people pressed into terrible, war time slavery as child-soldiers. Visit: www.invisiblechildren.com to understand Brielle’s commitment to the cause.

Brielle Live! The date and place to remember: Saturday, July 28, 8:00 p.m. at The Spire Theater, 317 East 3rd Street, Jamestown, New York.

"A Hometown Star"

Brielle Balances Music And More, Readies For July 28 Show
July 19, 2012
By Scott Shelters (sshelters@post-journal.com) , The Post-Journal
Multitasking is no problem for AGP recording artist Brielle.

The 17-year-old Jamestown High School student travels to New York City twice a week to co-write with music professionals. She also found time to do her school work and compete with the JHS indoor and outdoor track teams, something she plans to continue in her upcoming senior year.

Her debut, self-titled EP came out last week, and Brielle has a full-length album in the works. She'll introduce her sound to a local audience Saturday, July 28, at The Spire in Jamestown.

"This is really the kickoff for her," said Tim Edborg, CEO of AGP Records.

Edborg, Brielle's father, created the label after hearing his daughter's version of "Who'd Have Known," written by Lily Allen.

"My wife (Lianne) and I were up in our ski house in Vermont, and Brielle couldn't go because she had indoor track," said Edborg, whose son Christian is also a JHS athlete. "We got home on Sunday night. It was late. Brielle said, 'Hey Dad, look what I recorded on GarageBand.' The very next day is when I formed AGP Records."

Brielle's performing career began at age 5. She has performed in plays, and with the Chautauqua Regional Youth Ballet, the Junior Guilders and the JHS orchestra. She has played violin since her days in kindergarten.

Of her six released songs, Brielle wrote four of them, two of which were co-written by her keyboardist, Steve Davis. Edborg produced several of the songs, and Jamie Siegel, who worked with Whitney Houston and Taking Back Sunday, co-produced and mixed some of the tracks. The EP is available at brielle1.bandcamp.com.

Several of Brielle's songs have garnered national attention. Six of them have been licensed to MTV's "Snooki and JWoww," and one track, "Hands Up," could be seen on an international stage.

"That's being edited into a video for the summer Olympics," Edborg said. "Because Brielle is a high jumper on the varsity track team, her marketing guy would like her to be in the video. We're compiling a bunch of high-profile female athletes because it's kind of a girl-power anthem."

In total, Brielle plans to perform 16 songs during her July 28 show, which will begin at 8 p.m.

"The Spire has a really cool vibe," Brielle said of the former First Congregational Church. "We've been practicing for the show for a while now."

In the last month, Brielle has written 16 more songs, which will be tracked in the near future. She describes her music as a combination of the sounds of Maroon 5, Paramore, Kid Cudi and Katy Perry.

"It's very unique," she said. "If you listen to my music, you won't say, 'This sounds like so and so.' You'd think it sounds like me. It's definitely pop. There are some rock influences, some alternative influences, some R&B and hip-hop influences, but it's all pop. My sound is very positive, but it's almost like a dark brightness. That's a total contradiction, but if you listen to songs like 'Playing With Danger,' you might understand what that means."

Some of Brielle's songs feature her on the electric and acoustic violin. She'll play those instruments, as well as an acoustic guitar, at The Spire.

She'll also wear a dress she designed. She is working on her own clothing line, and Brielle hopes to eventually earn a degree in fashion design.

She might choose to focus solely on music after graduating high school next year, however. Until then, she will continue writing songs, while also focusing on school and track.

"We feel that we'll probably have 50 songs done by October or November," Edborg said. "We'll be able to pick which songs we want to go on the album."

On July 28, Brielle will be joined on stage by her bandmates Davis, Jed Thomson, Brandon Jones and Norbbie Gavin.
