Brent Ryan is Texas Americana. Many of his songs would fit perfectly into a playlist of Texas Country songwriters such as Robert Earl Keen, Guy Clark, or Willie Nelson. But there is a soulful roots approach to Brent's songs that are not country, in the truest sense. There are no swingin' fiddles or Texas draw steel guitars. But Brent's music is storytelling Americana that takes you on a journey, whether a song about Brent's personal experiences, or a fictional fantasy that reads like a short novel. Brent Ryan is born and raised Texan, and not afraid to keep to the Texas tradition of writing songs true to himself regardless of the popular sound.
