Brendan Morrison

“Fear." (out May 4) is an incredibly important album to me. Writing it forced me to confront (well...) my fears. Fear of failure. Fear of risk. Fear of starting over. Fear of being honest. Fear of how others perceived me. That list could go on forever. 

I started writing the album over a year ago. Every word you’ll hear comes from a personal place. Each of the 7 songs stood out because I felt the strongest connections to them. They made me feel the most. 

The songs came together out of nowhere... It’s hard to explain. I wasn’t forcing it, and it  completely changed the way I approached writing. I’ve learned that if I’m writing just to write  people will see through it. It had to be genuine and real. If nothing else it certainly is those two things. 

Writing the album was is its own reward. It helped me understand why I feel the way that I feel. Having the creative outlet to work through emotions  in a healthy way changed my life.  I know I’ll fail more times than I succeed, but being able to live without regret or what-ifs will bring me some peace.
